Hello MFP world! I want to start a new workout program and I can't decide which to pick, I want something to make my legs smaller and not build muscle on them. I know that you may say that my legs will be smaller if I lose weight, but they are the last place my extra weight seems to drop off and it's really annoying. My inner thighs are so getting on my nerves!
Is running a good idea? I was also thinking of starting Ripped in 30, but I would like to hear your advice :-)

Like you, my inner thighs are my nightmare areas.

I find The Firm DVDs really tones my thighs, so starting next week, I plan on working out with The Firm Lower Body Split every other day along with starting C25K.
  • I don't need to lose 54 kilograms, I need to get to this weight :-) I have 67 now, so 13 kgs to lose

    http://www.exercise-videos.co.za/fitness-killer-550-rep-workout/, start slow.

No weight workout pick and choose what works for you.
Split it up, legs abs one day arms back, chest the next day:

Some are too hard so substitute with others or modify
Count 25 reps RH, LH side 50 total.
Workout Goal 400 to 500 reps total

Leg press, running, and jump rope have done wonders for me
I also squeeze in random lunges, squats, and leg lifts when I'm bored/ waiting for something
ofc, this is just what worked for me

THIS! Squats with weight, leg press (keep upping weight after a week or so) and jump rope are working for me. Good luck! (I also do squats in the shower. Multi-tasking! hehe)

Must be nice to have a shower big enough to fit an oly bar in. What do you use for safety bars, shower curtain rods?

you have got to get in the weight room. Cardio for fat burn is great and all but the results you want to see come from strength training. My typical leg day consists of weighted squats & lunges, leg press, deadlifts, quad and hamstring extensions, inner and outer hip abductors.

I have a non-slip mat, and I've never used a bar for squats. No one at a gym, even my personal trainer, has ever told me I needed a bar for squats. But you are right, if you're suggesting squatting in the shower could be risky! So far, no incidents.

I lost inches from my thighs while heavy lifting at a deficit. You are not going to get bulky thighs like this...they will just look better once you've lost the fat. (I still have a lot to lose there, it is where the majority of my fat is).
