Does your body type influence on weight loss?

Hi, I was thinking, we all know there are different kind of body types, but if you are pear shaped is it harder or easier to lose weight? What about other body types? Does it really matter?
I've seen women, with all their fat in the upper part of their bodies, lose a small amunt of weight and looking fab, because their legs were skinny and this help a lot because their bodies look well-balanced.
I'm just tired to see my ribs, my abs, and still have fat legs :frown:
And before someone said it, I know you can't choose where to lose fat.

No. Genetics will determine where you put on fat first and where it will come off last. No matter your shape (pear, apple, straight, etc) they all lose weight the same way, with a calorie deficit. They'll lose it from different places in different orders but it isn't easier or harder.0

So, I will lose my last 6 lbs, being in the first half of BMI and still have fat legs... :grumble:0

And this is why strength training is important. It builds balance.0

I found that it balanced out for me in the long run. I lost weight in the upper part of my body first. My hip/thighs were huge still. They still are big (I can't remember what my body type is, tbh, I just refer to it as the 'real' curvy - as in curves regardless of weight), but they DID start looking 'slimmer' once I got past a certain point.
I did cardio, strength training, and yoga.
I think I agree, to a point, that people who use them are looking for excuses. But at the same time.. not so much. As certain body types do carry their weight differently. My sister looks smaller at 200 than I did at 200. Her body stays 'straight', whereas her stomach gets bigger outward. I grew outward and kind of 'length' wise. And carried my weight largely in my hips and thighs. Which always made me look huge compared to her. When really. We were exactly the same weight. Exactly.0 -
It isn't that you lose it first or last. You lose fat from all over. But because you have less on your abs/ribs (upper body/maybe arms or even face) you notice it sooner than your thighs/booty where you have more.
I agree that strength training will help a lot.0 -
I think it just appears different with how everyone "wears" the extra chub on their frame... but genetics determine it at the end.0

People mix this up. Soma types are not real.
But frame size and storing fat differently are very obviously real. Look around and we see women with different shaped bodies. I have a small waist and round booty and thighs. My mother has skinny legs and stores fat in her midsection. I look more like my bio father's side, but tiny like my mother's side.0 -
I have to up increase strength training then...0

I like strong curves, personally.
But there is also:
Starting Strength
New Rules of Lifting (bunch of different books)
Strong Lifts
And probably others.0
