Hi guys,
I've joined a new gym since moving back home and plan to use classes more than my normal gym routine (which always have me exact calories I'd lost) because they are all included in my membership and I like the motivating environment. however the classes such as body pump, bodycombat and then those specific to my gym aren't on the MFP database. So my question is how do you guys know how many calories to log when doing a class?
Thanks ????

U need a heart rate monitor or download a calories burn app. Hope this helps.0

Depends how hard you work.0

The MFP database isn't going to give you an accurate measurement of calories burned. You need a heart rate monitor.0

BodyPump, BodyCombat and many other Les Mills classes are in the database. Make sure you are searching as one word, not two. "BodyPump" not "Body Pump". I do wear a HRM during my classes and have to adjust the MFP number downwards when I go to log the exercise. Another strategy is to log the # MFP gives you but only eat back a percentage of the calories like half or 75%. Good luck!0

Thanks everyone. I've now ordered a heart rate monitor. I will have a look in the database again thanks!0

All the numbers are estimates. Harms can help you be more accurate, but they are not infallible.0
