I'd like to start strength training for the first time and have no idea how many pounds of dumbbells I should buy...I am 5'6 and currently weigh 134.5lbs if that helps and I have been going for an hour of kickboxing 2 to 3 times per week for the past 2 months. I'd like to tone my entire body!

I would suggest purchasing the dumbbell set that allows you to change the weight. Total weight is 25 pounds. You can make each one from 5 to 25 pounds. Below are some links on YouTube for dumbbell workouts.
