I seem to go over my sugar allotment frequently. My main source of sugar is fresh fruit.....is this as bad as eating refined sugar? Does your body convert it differently?

Sugar is sugar. Try to stick to healthy servings and go by your Carb count. I don't track sugar it is included in Carb count so I go by that. No more then 15 in a serving and no more then 45 in a meal. Works for me. I'm pre diabetic.0

Your body doesn't convert it differently. But fructose in fruit, rather than in some sugary product, is combined with fiber which delays some of the metabolism of the fructose so that it causes less of an insulin spike. Too much fruit can still be an issue for people with diabetes. Fruits are good for you (nature is so smart, she made them very colorful and good tasting so that we should eat them). You just need to figure out how much is good for you.0
