Emotional eating

I am just so frustrated and bored. I'm a stay at home mom. I never have the opportunity to go out. My husaband is camping with his buddies this weekend so I get no time to myself. I was so excited at bed time to finally get some alone time.....and my daughter wakes up and vomits all over. I have been fighting the urge all night to not eat like crazy. I am lonely, bored, frustrated.

Being a stay at home mom can be so tough and lonely! Trust me! We are a one car family and I am home with my daughter alooooooot! It's hard not to go crazy! Eating won't make you feel better though, you will just end up feeling both pissed off and guilty!0

You have your health, and your daughter's health and your hubby's health - boredom is a true blessing! You shouldn't eat yourself into an even worse mood - I try not to eat when I am emotional, because I can NOT make good food decisions, the only thing I want is garbage and I feel worse afterwards. Venting is good to get it all out. I am not sure what you can do to put yourself in a better mood - it varies from person to person - but I do hope you feel better soon!0

Emotional eating is a habit that can be very hard to break, much like any other bad habit. However its not the end of the world and it can be maintained properly.
What i recommend you do is eat properly with your nutrition for 3 weeks (21 days), as it takes 21 days to develop a habit. Once you develop a habit of proper eating, the cravings for the emotional food will start to wear down considerably as your control for proper foods will continue to increase.
When your stressed out, its not just the eating that can suffer, but also increased levels of Cortisol in your system get released, which changes your blood sugar levels and metabolism. To long of elevated periods of that will have a negative impact on the body.
Make it a goal to for a lifestyle change when it comes to Nutrition, and along that goes hand in hand with that is proper fitness. With those 2 things, you cant go wrong. You will encourage yourself, others around you, and that motivation will also help kick those old eating habits.0 -
Thank you all! Last night was rough but I successfully made it without eating! And Patrick you are right. I have been doing this for 6 months and the emotional eating has been getting easier but it is still very difficult at times. For me it is the worst of my habits to break.0

i think 50% of this problem needs to be solved by self control but the other 50% can be made up with detractions like
cleaning surfaces, washing up, vacuming, visiting family/siblings, socialising on the web/facebook, go out for a relaxed walk but do not log it as exercises but instead make it part of your everyday life and maybe volunteer somewhere or get a part time job to make more friends and socialise.....0
