What happens when you run a 1000+ calorie deficit per day?

Besides muscle/lbm loss? I know that you can lose up to 2 lbs per week up to 1000 calories per day. But what about the remainder when you exceed that? Those calories would still go towards performing something right? If your metabolism is effected, how much and how long would these conditions need to exist so that it happens? My BMR is like 1900 calories per day. If I am on a 1000+ deficit, would it go down after some time? Confused.. I'm not really looking to hear back that you'll go into "starvation mode"!

Okay, my height 5'11" 185 lbs and near 18-20% bf. Say I am losing weight just fine, but my caloric deficit is over 1000 calories. What are my concerns? Should I adjust that deficit so that it matches 1000 calories even though I was losing weight just fine?

    Besides muscle/lbm loss?

That isn't enough? Perhaps bone loss, hair loss, an over stressed heart? I don't know how my body would react, but I don't want to find out.
