Net Calories in the Diary

Hi All
May be this topic has been discussed many times before... sorry for raising it again. But please help
In Goals, I have set "Net Calories Consumed" as 1400
This value is in order to create a calorie deficit of 200 calories as my BMR is approximately 1600 calories per day. (200*7 = 1400 calories deficit)
On my Cardio days, I usually burn 1000 calories. (1000*3 = 3000 calories deficit).
On my strength training days, I usually burn 200 calories (200 *3 = 600 calories deficit)
I do not eat extra calories on my exercise days. I always stick to 1400.
Based on the above, my calorie deficit for the week will be 5000 calories giving me a decent chance of dropping 1.5 pounds based on the fact 3500 calories = 1 pound approximately.
Is my above understanding correct and is it a good approach? I read in some of the posts that you have eat what you have burnt to be even.If I do this the calorie deficit will be only 1400 pounds and is not enough to loose even a pound a week.

No, your deficit is not from your BMR but from your daily activity without logged exercise.
So the 1400 is a deficit of at least 520 from a sedentary activity level of 1600 * 1.2. Without considering exercise.0 -
^^^ I think your question has been answered. Just wanted to add, there's no rule that says you have to lose a pound a week. If the way you have your calorie target and exercise is working for you, then all you need is a little time and patience and the results will come0
