if i feel hungry after a workout or at night but i've reached my calories already that day should i still eat something?
i dont know if being hungry means that if i dont eat something then my metabolism or slow down? or is it ok to not eat something?
and if i should eat something what's a good snack?
the other day i just ate a half a cup of broccoli if im really hungry but id rather not eat anything at night if it wont slow down my metabolism
thanks

Your metabolism will not randomly slow down or speed up based on what you eat so you need to so you need to stop worrying about that.
First you need to figure out why you are hungry:
1. Are you taking in enough calories to sustain you? If not, you may need to increase your calories
2. Are you eating enough satiating foods? What are the foods that make you feel satiated longer? Add those to your menu
3. Are you portioning your meals equally? Some people don't require breakfast to have as many calories are dinner for example so they set different calories for different meals based on their needs
4. Are you leaving yourself enough calories for snacks? Some people like to portion out a few calories for "just in case" scenarios.
5. Are you eating back your exercise calories? Some people do, some eat half, some don't at all. If you fall in the last two categories, an extra meal will not hurt you.
Once you have dealt with the issues above, there are a couple of ways to tackle this issue: Just eat that meal and don't worry. If you aren't going above your maintenance level for calories often, it's not likely to sabotage you. OR if it happens to be a high calorie meal you could just portion it out of your next week 50-100 calories at a time or work out 10 extra minutes for the next week. I personally suggest the first option. Just stop stressing, if you are hungry.. eat something but try not to go overboard.0 -
I normally just eat something around 100 calories like an egg or a piece of cheese. It's high protein and does kill the hunger.0

Not eating at specific times won't hurt your metabolism, but it might not be sustainable to keep up in the long run. In that you might want to look at your calorie goals, macros or meal timings to rearrange them so you don't feel hungry like that. It's hard to suggest how without knowing more.0
