Migraines & Working Out

Hey Guys & Girlies
Just a quickie. I was wondering if people still workout when having a migraine?
I suffer with them once every couple of months and if they fall on gym days I have had to give it a miss. They can be so bad that it effects my sight, makes me feel sick and the nerves in my face just ache.
Would it benefit me from manning up, toughing through them and still going gym or do the usual and go to bed?
I just feel no gym = no weight loss and panic!
Thanks

I can't workout when I get a migraine. I get nauseous and feel like someone is driving an ice pick into my head.
Calorie deficit = weight loss, so I don't worry about missing 1 workout. I adjust my calories accordingly. I can't eat when I have a migraine or for a little while after it's gone (especially if I have to resort to meds), so it doesn't usually mess things up for me. Most of my weight loss has been without exercise.0 -
Great! Thanks for that. Sometimes I need somebody else to tell me NOT TO GO! lol.
It's boxfit tonight too so don't think that'll help much and there is this fluffin white noise sound outside of work that is driving me insane!!!!
Thanks again0 -
What do you use for your migraines? I'd find something to use that gets rid of them so you can work out!0

I usually use SUMATRIPTAN but left my fix at home. Usually have some in my bag but that lot ran out as you only get 6 pills in a packet.
Deffo won't be forgetting them in a hurry!0 -
Yeah, I definitely don't work out if I have a migraine. Sometimes if it is just coming on, or if it is still a stress headache that *might* turn into a migraine, working out helps, but once it gets to light sensitivity and nausea, it is totally not worth it. I think I'd be so distracted I'd be likely to hurt myself rather than get anything good out of the lifts. Also, I think they frown on throwing up on the weights...0

I was going to go trail biking on Saturday but had to back out due to a migraine  That ended up lasting all day. And pain pills were not helping this one.
It was such a nice day that I went for a walk along our greenbelt instead. I still felt awful but it was nice to be outside in the sunshine.
But I have tried hiking with a migraine, that was a bad idea, the elevation change (I live in the mountains, there is high elevation gain) was enough to make my head pound more and make me feel sick.
I just take it easy.0
