Stairs Running doubts

Hi All!!!

I need to lose hips and tights weight so they recommend me to do stairs running as a complementary “miracle” workout to tonify and gain strength in my lower body. But I’m not sure that I’m doing right.

So the last 3 weeks, I was running 6 flats (running up stairs as fast as I can, 30sec rest, and jogging down stairs) 5 times in 15 min more or less. I end up breathless and my heart rate goes beyond the max level.

My doubt is 15 min intense running is enough for a cardio workout or I have to increase the time.

Logically I think that I have to do min 25min, but can somebody please give me some tips to manage my heart rate so I can do more rounds.

Many thanks

I have heard, for what its worth, you need at least 20 minutes of cardio for it to be beneficial to your cardiovasuclar system. But with HIIT I dunno. Really doubt that helped you any.
