Make up day???

Over the weekend I went over on my calorie count... Oops. Since I'm 4'11" and very sendentary my calories are at 1200 a day. I know all the advice about how it isn't safe to go under 1200 a day. But what about having a make up day today where I only have 1085 calories just to make up for eating too many calories over the weekend? Overall I'm still over 1200, (I'd average about 1400 a day for Saturday, Sunday, and today - yeah, I went over...) so does that mean I'm still safe??? I'm not planning to go under 1200 on a regular basis, just a day to make up for overeating the previous days....

I would just continue eating your planned level. Don't try to make up a few days where you were over just a little. Chances are you were at most eating at your maintenance level or just under. Decreasing calories even more could compromise your nutritional intake.

Eating over your deficit goal for three days isn't going to ruin anything. If anything it can give your body a break from the deficit and reduce some stress.

Generally speaking, the "1200 calories" rule is arbitrary. You are much shorter than usual, and you said you were sedentary. You won't have any health problems if you go below 1200 calories.
