PACT App

I am in no way shape or form asking anyone to join, sign up or try out this app.
Having said that, I love this app.
It does "pay" you to work out, log your activities or one pact is simply posting a picture of veggies you ate for the day. You tell them how much you will pay for everyday missed ie: $5 $10 whatever, how many days you will do it for the week. The lowest being 3 then just log your activity. I have mine connected to MFP and FitBit and it syncs automatically so I don't have to do anything.
I know it sounds corny but it really did get me back on the treadmill. I signed up for a gym pact 3 days a week for $5 for every missed day.
Well for the gym pact you have to check in at a gym or log 10,000 steps through FitBit. I couldn't get in all my steps before I signed up, a typical day for me was around 6,000 steps.
I signed up for the gym pact and it forced me to get back on the treadmill.
I really credit it for making me do something I had been putting off for a while.
The pay out isn't as good as what you pay in if you miss, but it keeps me motivated for sure.
You can't get anyone to sign up under you or anything so I didn't post this to get anyone else to join up, just thought it might help motivate someone else who didn't know about it.
I found the link in the "apps" link at the top of the page. In two weeks I've made $3! ;0)
Hey three bucks to be healthier, I'm good with that!

Sounds interesting...I might try it when I actually have a few bucks available, just in case, as right now, I wouldn't be able to cover my "gambling" debt, so to speak. LOL0

I use it & love it!!! I've made over $60 on it since Aug & am currently earning about $5 per week between my gym, food & veg pact! Now I'm saving up for the cruise my husband & I are going on in Dec!!0

I deleted it. Well, let me rephrase that, I angrily made the staff at Pact delete my account at my request, and refund my money that was charged, and then I cancelled my debit card and deleted the app. The app never worked properly. Not worth my time and hassle for $1.50 or whatever per week.0

I use it and love it. The veggie pact has really helped me get my eating in check.0

I started using PACT in January. I only did the MFP food logging section of the application until about 3-4 weeks ago when I added 1 day for the first week and 2 days for the other weeks. I requested my first payout/redeemed my rewards on Tuesday, 4/29 (yesterday) and woke up to see that I received my funds already. Now that I KNOW it actually works, I'm going to up the amount of days for the GYM section and see how much I can make.

I've just done the same (told them to delete my account completely) after constant problems with the app being unreliable this week. Shame ... I thought it was a neat idea. Anyone else had problems recently.0 -
Is anyone else having problem connecting their MyFitnessPal to their Pact for logging food?0

Yes! I keep attempting to "Connect" MFP through the Pact app, but it opens MFP and doesn't ask for the permissions to connect. Then, if I attempt to go into MFP's "Apps & Devices" and click on Pact, it only gives me the option to "Open". I attempted deleting the Pact app and then going in through MFP, but it just takes you to download the Pact app.
I would really love if someone has a solution for this as I was weary of Pact and am now worried I'm going to lose money for this issue.0 -
Yep, in the same position. Attempting to connect Pact with MFP results in a white screen that does nothing and not connecting. Definitely not handing over my credit card details until this and other issues are fixed.0

Love it! Been using it for a couple years now. Loved it when they added food logging and synced with MFP. Just withdrew $60 and bought a new dress! Keeps me accountable and now they've added step logging! When they sync to Garmin, it'll be even better for me!0

I've never had connectivity issues between Pact and MFP. I've been connected for a long time, maybe this is a new bug that doesn't affect old users.0

Yup. I rage quit. I joined because I figured it would be easy cash considering I eat veggies like its my job and log articulately 24/7 and have been for almost a year. NOPE. I lost money to stupid crap like people deciding that my carrots weren't a large enough serving and saying beets were not a vegetable (?!) and despite my attempts to correct this with staff, I still ended up having to pay for it and just cancel my account. I loathe this app. How can subjective opinions from people in the community (who don't believe beets are a vegetable) cost me more money than weeks and weeks of good logging make? I can see how they make their money. Poor customer service when I had issues didn't help at all. If I honestly deserved to pay in, I would gladly take that penalty, but I hated this app.0 -

Wow. That is frustrating.
I use the Wellcoin app, which I believe is just Boston (and maybe now NYC) based. It's similar, but you don't have to pay if you don't do it. You get coins for doing healthy activities and then can use those coins to buy things in the market place on the App.
However it does the same thing that frustrates you. I will log my healthy dinner, take a picture of it and then it gets verified by the community. If someone doesn't think my veggie burger and salad is a healthy enough dinner, I won't get as many coins. I'm always all F that to that person, but in the end...it didn't cost me anything. If it did, I'd be an angry angry elf.
I think angry, angry elf described my reaction quite well, actually The frustration was not worth it.0 -
I am already motivated and (honestly) if I weren't, having to fork over $5 wouldn't motivate me. If I thought money could buy my way to thin, I'd have written a check a long time ago!
Were I to do it, I'd donate the money to people who need it immediately and could really use any extra, like battered women. They're my #1 on the list of People To Help, but we all have some cause that could use the cash.
I wouldn't give it to people who make a faulty app and try to collect money from those who are desperate to lose weight.0 -

My husband and I give a lot to charity, and I am very self motivated. Thanks for the shaming, though.0 -
That's why i don't do the veggie/fruit part of Pact, just the food log and workout pacts. Not going to leave my money under the control of other people.0

I didn't even mention anyone's motivation, just what would not motivate me.
I'm a little offended by your statement that I was trying to shame you...or anyone. I was not.
