The Truth is,
DIE-TS don’t work.
Changing My LIFE STYLE WILL.
If you diet, and lose 100lb but do not change your
Life Style, you WILL gain all that weight back
And it will bring Friends with it!
I have never had problems losing weight when
I finally got down to it. My last “Die-t” I lost 35/40lb
Did it in a short 6/7 months! And within a year it
Was all back and brought 10lbs worth of friends with it.
I had not changed my Life Style, and my way of eating
And exercise…. Losing weight is easy.
How to Lose Weight….
EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE!
SIMPLE….
Here is the problem I finally saw
I was eating less, eating “smarter” diet wise, and not over eating.
Did not include much exercise, and did not eat things I would
Be eating AFTER I lost the weight… salads are all well and good
But is that what you will be eating AFTER the Die-t?!
Probably not….
I have finally come to realize that I need to Change My LIFE STYLE
And losing the weight will be a happy “BYPRODUCT” of it!
Yes, I am counting calories, but in a different way than I ever did on a
Die-t. I am adding Good for me Foods, but not getting rid of the things
I like. Here is an example:
We have a Restaurant here in the San Diego Area Called Farmerboys
They have wonderful hamburgers, Real Meat! Real cheese and their
French-fry’s decay if you leave them out [a reference to: Davies McDonalds Happy Meal Project]
Google it if you want :-)
Ok back to Farmerboys wonderful hamburgers
Farmer’s Cheeseburger:
Cheeseburger: 650 Calories
French Frys: 514 Calories
Total: 1164 calories
not to mention 1400mg sodium and a ton of fat.
Now once in a while this will not hurt your Life Style Change BUT…
How about share that meal with a friend, or make it into two meals!
I personally would rather have 582 Calories and a slice of berry Pie 300 Calories
For desert!
I find that having a Mean Green Juice in the morning, a sensible lunch
And a sensible dinner with a few cashews and a 25cal Popsicle or 4 tossed
In for good measure makes a good day. I add in some good for me and tasty
snacks during the day as well.
Instead of having spaghetti noodles and marinara, I have spaghetti squash
With marinara, so what if I have a little more than one serving… its ALL
Vegetable! :-) and I never realized how good that tasted!
Finding things I like to eat, trying new things to substitute for some of the
Things I like that are, without a doubt really bad for me… IE Hot Pockets
Ok Ill have one once in a while now, but just one, not both of them in the box
I do not deprive myself of the things I really like, but instead of eating a whole
Mr. Good bar, I have a bit of it tonight and maybe a bit tomorrow, moderation
And yes will power, but if you cannot find the will power to moderate your eating
You will not be able to change…
I am adding exercise, nothing strenuous at first due to I am disabled and walk
With a cane, which I hope someday to toss in the trash! 30-45 minutes of walking,
instead of getting in the car to go to my Job.
the walk takes 30 minutes, round trip, and I get extra calories for the day! Hehe doing house work
Burns a tone of calories. Walking to the store, instead of burning $4.15 a gallon, ouch
And we will NOT get into gas prices! haha
So In a nut shell: I am NOT DIE-TING… I am exchanging my bad habits for good habits and
Looking forward to a long life were ,someday I can go skiing with my kids and grand kids!
Diets or as you have probably noted if you have gotten this far, DIE with a T slapped on the end,
Do NOT work changing your Life Style Will! And losing weight will be a Happy VERY happy
Byproduct of the changes you make to your Life.
Thanks for getting this far!
