Sugar Addiction

Hi All,
I have a serious problem. I generally live a very healthy life style, plent of sport and what not. However, I have a major problem, as do alot of people (I think) in controlling my sugar intake.
Please if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate any help that you can give.
P.S I have tried cold turkey, and it didn't end well

Unless you're diabetic or have another specific medical condition related to sugar consumption, sugar's just a carb. There's no reason to track it separately without such specific medical issues.

If your not eating sugar from the sugar bowl, your not addicted. What your addicted to is the carby, fatty, salty and sugary food........that unfortunately is up to you to curb that consumption if it's putting you over your calorie limits continually. Unfortunately most can't do it, so your not alone.

A big HIGH FIVE for this article!!! My two favorite parts are this: 'Sugars Don’t Ruin Your Health…Unless You Eat Like an Idiot and Refuse to Exercise" and this: "I don’t know how many times I’ve had people chalk up their lack of dietary willpower as “addiction.” They’re just “addicted” to the junk food. It’s not their fault. Well…no. They’re just weak willed."

    Thank you.

PS: I just ran a report on my own sugar intake (I don't track it). I average 80-100 grams per day, sometimes hitting over 175. Hasn't stopped my weight loss.

If you have a really hard time with sugar, you may want to consider having your glucose/insulin levels checked. Those with difficulty with glucose metabolism (like insulin resistance, diabetes, etc.) often have a very hard time controlling sugar intake. If you read up about insulin resistance, it makes sense why this happens. Plus, over 40% of US adults have either diabetes or prediabetes (insulin resistance above normal). Many people with these conditions don't know about them. You may be one of them.

THIS. It's highly palletable which is why many have a hard time controlling it. You just really need to make the decision to reduce it since practically everything we eat out there has some sugar in it.
