I thought this ad was brilliant but, of course, that's my opinion, primarily because it (1) demonstrates the one can feel better without a product but (2) it's great marketing because of the warm and fuzzies it throws off. Of course, it also demonstrates the power of placebos. So with all that, it is "controversial" . . . ask anyone to think and you instantly create controversy . . . hummmm, controversy = publicity = sales. My hat is off to you, Dove.

I know some will hate this ad and others will love it. I just think it was brilliant.

I liked Dove's sketch ad from last year. This one seems kind of dumbed down. It would have been a better experiment, if they had given women a patch and not told them what to expect when they wore it. I bet a lot of people would have quit smoking.

LOL - I'm sure there would have been some weight loss there too

I think it's very clever and it made me cry. Whether the audience has warm fuzzies like me, or feels the need to create controversy, its excellent advertising.

I think it does a great job at making people see that beauty comes from within and not from some outside source. It's the same issue with weight loss. Hard work and dedication make it happen, not some pills.
