pulled muscle

so, i was running yesterday and -thought- i got a side cramp. i wasn't surprised because it's not uncommon for me, so i started walking. i walked a half mile and it didn't get any better and this morning when i woke up, it was still there. so, i'm pretty sure that i pulled a muscle. i took some ibuprofen and it's slightly better, but it still aches when i walk. soooo, how can i prevent this from happening and what's the best way to treat it if it does?

Try to stretch and foam roll. Take some hot epsom / essential oils bath for now.
As for preventing them, try stretching and yoga for flexibility.0 -
not to lessen what you are going through I suspect it's not a pulled muscle...
strain maybe...advil for the swelling, heat and cold packs and better stretching before exercising.
a pulled muscle takes weeks sometimes months to heal and is exceptionally painful....and are there are different degrees of pulls that go all the way up to tears...0
