Excited to get accountable

Hi

I am a 44 year old mother from Massachusetts looking to lose about 25 pounds and get healthier. I have never really done a diet before but, this calorie counting really shows how quickly things add up. I am extrememly busy with a full time job, 2 teenage daughters, husband and a large messy house. Staying accountable to the calorie counter and making sure to exercise will be as much of a challenge as the actual food monitoring. I am looking forward to giving and receiving support in this journey. :smile:

    Welcome to MFP. You're in the right place for keeping yourself accountable. One thing that has helped me is to not look at this as a diet, but as a lifestyle change. That way, I remind myself that I'm changing habits so I don't gain back the weight. Lots of people look at a 'diet' not as a way to eat, but as a thing that they do for a short amount of time until they hit their goal. I did. And I gained back all the weight once I got off the diet. So it's a lifestyle change for me. Good luck!
