Excess Skin

I've noticed I'm starting to get the dreaded skin sack from loosing weight, and while I'm sure exercise alone won't get rid of all of it once I reach my goal weight I was wondering if anybody knows of some good exercises I can do while I'm losing weight to try and minimize the skin sag. :)

for me I have to keep hydrated and I have found that my maintaining my muscle mass I don't have as much sage as women who have lost less weight than me through diet alone.

The skin is an organ...and will require time to get back to normal...some say a couple years..not to be discouraging.

Just try to maintain as much muscle as you can through your weight loss by eating lots of protien and doing some form of resistence training.

You're young. It's going to be easier for you to get it back.

I'm likely in the 'never' category at over 40. I have quite a bit of sag and have pretty well been maintaining (losing VERY slowly) for the past 6 months or more. I'm seeing a little improvement but I doubt I'll ever be able to appear in public with a bare tummy ever again.

Keep hydrated and use cream liberally - it helps a lot.

What he said. It takes time for your skin to adjust and depending on your age and amount of extra skin you have, you may not have any extra skin after a couple years, or you may have a lot. It's definitely differs per person, but gaining muscle will help to fill in some of that extra skin.

Absolutely this! I've noticed the biggest improvements since focusing more on lifting weights and getting adequate protein.

And I agree that you have age on your side!

I lost about 45 pounds and honestly I look like I could take flight with my arms looking they way they did. I started doing excercises geared toward right arms. Its on youtube called Tank Top Arms. I love it. Its working. Also i do some general toning so that if i lose more I won't look like Flubber. Good Luck. You will get there!
