Cardio Vs Weights OR Both?

I am struggling with a routine that will be beneficial to my health and weight loss goals.
I joined MFP almost 2 months ago and have been exercising for almost 3 months (mostly cardio i.e. running/walking 30-45 min on the treadmill).

Problem: I have only lost 3 lbs.

I weigh my food, and follow portions however, I am still making adjustments to tailor this plan.

Recently, I have started doing body pump, and I love it.

Should I be concentrating on cardio until I lose more weight or am I doing the right thing by incorporating the weights?

Please help

Weight loss is all about the calorie deficit. You can't out train a bad diet (and by that i mean eating too much)

A calorie deficit along with a good lifting program and balanced vardio is the key to success.

Look into Stronglifts, Starting Strength or new rules of lifting

No matter what you do, having your diet in check is crucial

    are you checking your measurements?

the scales can be discouraging. but understand that the scales is not linear

    to give you a picture

i started at 108 lbs according to the scale..2-3 months ago

the lowest number i have seen is 101. weight in 2 days ago, it was 105

    but you know what?

my waist shrunk from 27 to 24.5, hips from 37 to 34, and thighs from 21 to 19.5

though incorporating weights you be great!
