Two Half Marathons.. 3 weeks apart?

Wondering if any expierenced runners have any advice on how to do as my subject mentions...my first half marathon is June 1 and im looking at another on June 22. June 1st is my first one ever and June 22 is in support of a charity I am very passionate about.
I'm not looking to do amazing time in either but have full intentions on running the whole time and not stopping.. I ran 21.1km/13mi this past Sunday in 2:08 so Im capable, I just want to be safe.
From the perspective of training, nutrition, injury prevention etc.. Is there anything I should do in particular knowing I'll be doing that distance twice over 3 weeks?
Stats are 5'3F 125ish.. I have been running for about a year and currently I do 4 runs per week that are usually 5k, 10k, 6k, long run (15 or more KM)

I done my first HM last month followed by another 2 weeks later.
Are you following a training plan? If so I just done the last 2 weeks of the plan over after the first HM to tie in with the second, obviously in your case just go back 3 weeks. The first couple of runs after the HM were done at an easy/recovery pace followed by normal training and a week taper up to the second HM.
Hope that makes sense.0 -
I pretty much agree with Geno. Keep the runs the week after your 1st short and at an easy pace then in the 2nd week go back to the appropriate week on your training schedule if you have one and depending on how you are feeling, maybe keep those at a fairly easy pace too. If your training program has you going really light the week before your half then the middle week (again, base your pace on how you are feeling) get a long run in. If your training schedule has you just under a half the week before, then do that instead of rest/taper. Good luck to you!0

i have done two with a week in between. i think you will be fine since you've been training - the hardest part will probably be mental!0

No problem! Have fun and good luck! Do whatever you like in between. You'll be fine.
Also, are you aware that there's an active Long Distance Runner's group here? Stop by!

I used to run more back in the day. I think you have the right outlook. I would almost treat the first one as a training run. Nice steady pace, stop for water when you need it, don't worry about the time. Recover and then maybe push the second one a bit more to see what you can do.
good luck on both!0 -
The week after do 3-4 runs easy, then repeat the last two weeks of your previous training plan heading into HM #2. Good luck.0
