No Time Like The Present

After spending over a minute and a half on "the other side" while having a heart attack a bit over a year ago I've opted to live healthier. I quit smoking after the "big event", something I'd tried dozens of times before. It turned out to be rather easy this time. More surprising though is the fact I didn't gain weight after quitting, something that plagues most smokers when they quit.

My goal isn't to look better...those days are long past. My goal now is to just remain above ground as long as I can. While I attribute my heart attack primarily to smoking, I'd like to get my weight down to 180#.

At present I'm full-time traveler in an RV, bumming the back roads of the U.S. My exercise regimen is pretty much limited to walking...no running, I'm not in a hurry to get anyplace.

Given I'm not after a beach body I'm looking for practical weight-loss, more attributable to life-style change than some major effort to lose a bunch of weight in a short time. I'm looking to lose about 3 pounds a month....that would be 36 pounds a year which would be fine....a safe pace to lose, and entrenched enough at the end of the period to maintain....ideal I would think.
