Questions about stetching, exercises, and running

I'm going to research it more but I'd like to know what others have learned and why. When do you do dynamic stretching, static stretching, core exercises, and strength training? What I've learned most about when to do it is static stretching which is after running even thought for cross country we do it after the warm up and I'd like to know if anyone disagrees with only doing it after the run. My teacher says static stretching after a warm up is more of a psychological thing than something that helps for most people but for some people it really does help. Also, we've always done core exercises after running which I have no idea if that is correct/good. With dynamic stretching, would you do it after the warm up? That's what I do for cross country and my teacher said it's good to do it before which he was really vague about it. I really have no idea when to do strength training because I don't have much knowledge. What I'm asking about that is probably vague. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
