Lacking Motivation

Hey all, even though I have only joined the MFP community a few weeks ago, I was previously turning into a gym junkie, eating all the right things and at the gym 5 nights a week. But since moving in with my boyfriend 3 or so months ago, I've completely lost all my motivation (and packed on the kgs I had lost!) and I want to get it back!
So I was wondering what are all your tips and secrets in staying motivated and getting past that awful feeling of feeling too unfit and unsightly to go to the gym, and even turning away and going back home, even when I see just one other person using the gym facilities.
Help please!

You deserve to be at the gym. Don't let how other people see you change your mind. You deserve to be fit, happy, and healthy! I stay motivated by doing what I like. I don't go to the gym because I don't like it but I do a lot of walking, running, hiking, swimming, going into the ocean, that sort of thing.

This happens to nearly everyone of us on this journey (myself included). You need to have a few things in place to help with this. You must have a strong WHY. Why do you want these changes? What is driving you? When you are losing steam and want to slack off, remember your why. Focusing on this will make you hit your workout and put down that whatever-you-are-eating. Also, you need accountability to keep you on track, people you can turn to that will tell you you don't need that or to get back to work. If you are having trouble staying motivated and are looking for support, I help to run support groups through Facebook. We have lots of people in there that are improving themselves and helping everyone else to stay accountable. We teach about proper nutrition and how to exercise. I'd be happy to chat with you about it if that is something that you're looking for.

Pick up a book called The Body Fat Breakthrough by Ellington Darden and read it!! It's the most motivating thing I've read/program I've done ever! I was recently just in a slump, not only with health and fitness, but with life in general. And reading that book has me all jazzed again! There's a group for the book/program on MFP too if you want to join it! Also, while I don't mean to pry about your relationship or anything--since you said that your motivation dropped when you moved in with him--make sure he's on board with your goals too! Talk to him about encouraging you to go to the gym, or better yet, go together!! My boyfriend and I are constantly giving each other gentle but encouraging nudges. Good luck!0
