I am in need of some good workout clothes that I won't have to sell a kidney for.
I'm really looking for some excellent "supportive" wear (if you know what I mean) :blushing:

anyone know of a good brand or store?

I buy Champion from Target or get Nike when it's on sale at Sports Authority (or I have a coupon). Be aware that the Champion tops are running small right now. Just got 4 new ones and I have to take them back. The mediums are fitting like smalls. Not fun!

I second target! They always have really nice workout clothes, and target is super cheap too.

How do you size sports bras?? I can never figure out how to buy one that fits and is supportive enough to run in.

MovingComfort is a great brand for supportive workout wear - now that I found it, it is the only bra that I will run in. They are usually at TitleNine (somewhat expensive) but sometimes you can find something from them on EBay or discount sites if you want something a little more wallet friendly.

I find sports bras really hard to fit too, especially the stretchy spandex kinds! I moved to more fitted sports bras with a regular bra band with clasps - they fit very closely to what you wear every day. In my case, my sports bra is just a size smaller than my regular one.(38 instead of 40)

Yup, I'm with everyone - Target has the best priced exercise clothing. I just bought two champion tops for $3 each!! Definitely check out their sales rack.

Another option for a little more stylish workout clothes is New York and Company. They also over petite and tall options. The workout pants I got there were around $20.

Last, if you want to spend more money and get clothes that will last a long time and pants that hide sweat (a bigger winner) try Lucy. If you don't have any stores near you can shop online at www.lucy.com However, their prices are much higher (approx. $40 for pants).

    Good Luck!

Kohl's has Fila on sale most of the time and the prices are pretty reasonable. I wear Shock Absorber sports bra's, they're pricey (about $60) but they're amazing- the girls stay put like they've been duct taped

The best sports bras I have found are Danskin at Wal-Mart - great quality for high impact - for the busty woman they have a great one for 10 bucks.... if you are built like me they have a high impact half tank style that come two to a pack... cant beat the price and they wash well and last.

For work out clothes, Target is great but I also hit up TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I have also found the Xertion line at JC Penny to be very high quality and they always seem to be on sale.
  • I 100% agree with the poster who suggested Moving Comfort. It is on the only thing I wear. They last forever and really limit the ... jiggle. :)

I skimp on tops and shorts, but am willing to spend money on sports bras and good shoes.
Go to a running store and just get fitted for a bra - the last one I bought holds me like something
out of Tomb Raider. I could strap grenades to it and go into battle. The girls DO NOT MOVE. It's awesome.
I will NEVER go back to skimpy cotton sports bras again!
For clothes - Sports Authority clearance racks.

Wal-mart...i buy EVERYTHING there, but i don't wear the cute little yoga pants and the super sporty tank tops...i wear joggers and an over sized men's shirt...because I already hate the gym, if i'm not comfortable i hate it even more...as for sports bras, again at Wal-mart...i buy fruit of the loom (3pack for $15) if you need to wear two at a time then do so...i'm a "big" girl but i only wear one

I like Fila from Kohl's Also Kohls seems to have one day sales just about every week! I just complimented an outfit on someone at the gym, she said she got it dirt cheap at TJ Max

Someone else said it: Danskin sports bras from walmart (they have a cup shape and a bit of lining so when you sweat "little things" don't show thru  ).
I go to discount stores like ROSS, TJMaxx & Marshalls since I need low-waisted pants (sorry, I really don't need high waisted so my pants support my boobs, thats what the sports bra is for!); I just picked up 5 new pairs ranging from $12-$19 (I paid a bit more since I'm a Medium now instead of Large & should fit in these for a while). I've found good deals at Target, like someone else said, Champion has some nice pants & tops.

I never thought this would be me: I get excited when I need to buy new workout clothes now  Who woulda thought ?
