Does anyone know of any good low sodium snacks? I googled for it but only found a bunch of "How to stay on a low sodium diet" pages.

Thanks!

I love the cocoa flavored almonds. They're prepackaged, so you can't overeat. I buy the Emerald brand. Also, I like orange creamsicle ice pops!

My low sodium snacks are strawberries, bananas, oranges, cantelope, unsalted almonds and pretty much any fruit. I'm sure there are others, but these are mine. Good luck and let me know what else you find.

Unsalted nuts, fruits, veggies, etc are all great low sodium options.

Also, I recently started using a little lime juice in place of salt when seasoning different types of meat, so that is another way to cut out some sodium, although it is more of a meal thing than a snack.

This is one of my favorite sites. http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/Archive.htm

    Try the roasted chickpeas:
    4 c Chick Peas,Canned Or Cooked Dry
    1/4 t Cayenne
    1 t Garlic Powder
    1 t Cumin
    1 t Paprika

Bake chickbeas on baking sheet at 400 degrees for 40 minutes then spray with olive oil and shake in bag with seasonings.

if it is processed foods, it will normaly have sodium in it. Basicly you will need to go with natural foods.

The lower you go in the document the lower the sodium. Of course, you will want to consider calories. But if activity is part of your weight loss strategy then a lot of things can be consumed (in moderation, of course).

I like the cinnamon and brown sugar ones. :-) They're not salted, either.

I also eat some dark chocolate every day. Just enough to keep me from feeling hungry for a while but not so much that I overdo the calories (dark chocolate and cinnamon both work as natural appetite suppressants.).
