Your body just says "No"?

Do you think it's possible for your body to just "decide" what weight it wants to be? I've hit my goal weight I guess but still flucuate between it and about 3 lbs over. Honestly, I'd be happy to get a few pounds under my goal weight so my fluctuations put me at goal weight. But maybe my body doesn't want to get down that low?

no. Your body can't create energy.
However, if you are at your goal weight, I wouldn't worry about a 3 lb fluctuation. If you want to lose a little more, do it. Otherwise, be happy you acheived your goal and don't stress +- 3lbs.0 -
In short, no. There is such a thing as a weight "set point", a weight that your body tries to maintain, but it is subject to the laws of physics just like anything else. If you eat less calories than your body burns, you will lose weight, regardless of any "set point".0

Yes - I think as you get smaller, its harder to lose & your body is fighting you!
It wants to stay that weight..... Well with me anyway, I have pushed my weight too far before & its hated me for it!
You want to be 3lbs lighter, but your body is quite happy there : )0 -
Your body just responds to how it's treated. It's sole purpose is to survive, but just like gaining weight, loss of weight is controlled by energy expenditure/energy consumption.

I don't personally subscribe to this theory...
If you don't like the 3lb flucuation at the high end then yah lose a couple more pounds...
but you are going to have flucuations...set a range you are comfortable with ..for me it's between 150-158 as I know 3lb of water weight is possible...but i wont stress over it..
I used to think this and that my body liked 165...guess what it doesn't care...I lose in a deficet end of story.0
