macros and high calorie diets

I understand how to manage macronutrients with a modest calorie deficit target. Usually, meeting my numbers while I am eating back exercise calories is not too difficult. My usual exercise calorie target is 300 to 350 calories a day and my MFP daily calorie target is about 1700.

But what happens when I am doing endurance training as I am right now? I am burning 1200 to 1400 exercise calories six days a week and eating to my macros as MFP sets them to account for the all those calories - especially for protein - is insanely difficult and, moreover, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

So here's the question: If I meet my macros when I hit my "modest" calorie deficit target (and eating back 300 calories a day as I did before I started endurance training) can I just eat whatever I want to fill out the remaining 900 to 1100 calories I need to get in?

Sorry if this question has been answered; I couldn't find anything when I searched the boards.

Absolutely! Once you hit your protein and fat goals, feel free to load up on carbohydrates if you feel so inclined. :)

Yes, once you've met your protein and fat minimums, make up the rest of your calories with whatever you like. Endurance training requires fuel.

I wouldn't refer to this as a 'high calorie diet' though, as you're still eating below maintenance.

thanks all. i thought that was the answer but was worried that my love for carbohydrates, rather than reason, was speaking.
