Hi Guys! My name is Jamie, and I have been on Myfitnesspal for 90 days now. I am 41 years old, with 5 kids. I tried to get family and friends to do this with me, but no one has kept it up. I definitely need some motivational friends who are also trying to lose weight! I lose 1-2 pounds a week, and am working really hard at this. I still have about 75-95 pounds to go, but I have lost over 32 pounds so far. I am waiting til tomorrow to weigh in at work to see my new total.
I am worried about the winter months, and how to keep doing my workouts, since I have been doing everything outside up til this point.
I would love to have a pal on here who is also trying to lose a lot of weight. Right now I walk 4 miles on Tues/Thurs, and Ride my bike on Saturdays. I have started walking 1-2 miles on the in between days. I do have access to a gym, but I am waiting until I absolutely have to go inside. I get bored at the gym really quickly.
Well, anyway, I hope someone is interested.

Here's an idea that might help you when you have to exercise inside. I found a nice used treadmill on craigslist for 250 and when i can't get to the gym I will walk on my treadmill. I know treadmills can get very boring, but what I do is walk while I am watching my shows. Especially Biggest Loser. I get so motivated while watching that show and it's easy to walk on a treadmill while you are watching them work their butts off doing all kinds of workouts for hours. It also keeps me from sitting on the couch for two hours and grabbing a snack while I watch. The time seems to go faster because I'm engaged in the show I'm watching. I DVR my stuff too so I can fast forward through the commercials and not get bored.
Maybe that's something that could work for you. Or get an exercise ball and do exercises with that while watching TV. Actually, you would burn calories just sitting on an exercise ball while watching an hour or two of TV. I am worried about the winter months because of food during the holidays. I always pig out.
I have 63 pounds to lose (maybe more) so I would love to be your friend and go through the journey with you.0 -
I'm here too! I am almost at 90 days and am down 30, with 110 to go! My boyfriend was asking what I was going to do once the cold weather and snow hit, how I was going to go out and walk?.... unbeknownst to him I have been checking out the Wii. HE started to try and sell me on getting a game system and all the wonderful fitness games they had on the Wii..... I just looked at him and said "but you don't like games and stuff like that".... I think we are going out this afternoon to get one!0

i use a stability ball instead of a computer chair and it does a great job on my waist, have you a pedometer. just wearing one helps me to walk that litlle bit more that i would. you can add little things to your daily routing that should help you even when you dont feel motivated to go to the gym. i put myself on a timeframe to get my housework done and i add music when i can. it makes me move faster as i do my daily routine. its not much more effort than i did befor but over time it all adds up to helping me lose pounds. i have an exersize bike in my lounge and i sometimes have ten minutes on it whilst watching tv. the small things can be as helpful as the big stuff and your much more likely to stick to it even in winter. winters great for outdoor walks. you use up more calories in the cold.0
