I was buckling my seatbelt yesterday and realized I no longer need to hoist my right hip up to fasten my seatbelt because I'm no longer sitting on the connector.29

Slightly annoyed today as weather has been grumpy and has prevented any cycling for the last four days. I am seriously considering getting a waterproof jacket on and going anyway but as I wear glasses, this makes it a little difficult. Also, got on the scale this morning to a 3lb overnight gain, darn water weight!
So, feeling a bit grumpy. And annoyed. My family are pleading with the weather to improve as I am a complete b*t*h to live with if I don't get my daily cycling time.
This morning the weather is slightly brighter (read: not raining but threatening to). It's running day so I drag my son away his tablet and off we go. We (I) decide to run to the other side of town being as the ParkRun we do on a Saturday has been cancelled this week.
NSV 1: I didn't look at my phone until right towards the end of the run. Usually I look at it several times to see how much further we have. Today I didn't bother as we get there when we get there, right? We ended up going a bit too far (all of 20 metres).
NSV 2: We beat our previous fastest time for a 5km by 22 seconds. This may not sound like a lot over 5km but when you consider the steep, steep hill we went up (along with lots of other smaller hills) and the steep, steep, steep hill we ran down, that's pretty impressive. We go slowly down hills to avoid the Jack and Jill scenario - I don't need any more injuries (still getting over last year's biking accident).
NSV 3: We beat the previous fastest time for this particular run by 2 minutes and 52 seconds. That is impressive, considering what a horrible route it is.
NSV 4: On the way back, we spotted a new clothes shop (I am suddenly interested in clothes; never used to be, they were just something to hide in up until now). Unfortunately I cannot shop there as I am too small for any of the clothes. They cater for 16-36 and I'm a 10. I got such a kick out of that!
NSV 5: Instead of moping about the grotty weather, I used my b*t*h attitude on clearing out the garage. Only about half the stuff went back in. I have loads to put on Ebay and the local children's charity shop got several boxes full as well.
NSV 6: (This is a bit TMI, feel free to skip over) For some reason my DH cannot keep his hands off me. I have no idea why as I don't feel any changes have happened recently but any chance he gets he takes full advantage of. He's not been like this for years. Possibly decades even. Not that I'm complaining, mind . . .
NSV 7: The weather looks reasonable tomorrow, the alarm is set for 5am, and I am going to get out on the bike and do 50 miles before the children are out of bed. DH has got some new bits for the bike that will hopefully reduce the stress on my hands so he'll probably fit those for me today. Is is crazy to be so excited about the thought of a bike ride?30 -
I just finished week 6 of c25k. I'm shocked I can jogg for two miles now! I may be a slow *kitten* runner but damn it I am one!
That is awesome. I completed C25K in Feb. and have run in three 5K races since then. Also slow is the way to go when you are completing the program. You are working on endurance to be able to complete the distance. The speed will come when your endurance and fitness improve. Good luck with the rest of the program. You are right, you are now a runner.

Ran and walked a 2.4 mile trail around a local lake. Lots of hills, but I completed the course faster than I thought I would.17

The rain stopped (well, it went from torrential to light drizzle).
The wind had died down.
It was still light.
I cycled.
I got home cold, wet, dirty but completely exhilarated.
It was the best 20 miles ever.
I'm a happy bunny again having been stuck indoors for days.
It's the little things.26 -

I really enjoy reading about how happy you are while exercising. It brightens my day!8 -
I got in 7 hours of sleep for the first time in a long time.17

It's sort of an NSV.... I couldn't buy any of the clothes I wanted at Walmart because they didn't have sizes small enough. A medium is slightly big on me and most of everything they had only came in L to 3XL21

Hiking. Really falling in love w/ this.
Seeing that size 40 pants is too big (time to donate), 38 too big most of time, wore 36 shorts today.22 -

I eat 5 cookies. So trying to loose weight that's not the victory, but what I did afterwards is. Firstly I acknowledged that I shouldn't have brought in cookies to work; they are my weakness and although my intention was to share that didn't happen. Secondly I acknowledged that I had eaten too many and threw the rest (3) away. Thirdly I still planned to eat dinner (in the past I would have skipped to be within my calories and as a sort of punishment; but that's not healthy and usually means that the next day I'm craving fast sugar because I'm starving). Point 4 I did not further sabotage myself; even though there was a little voice that kept telling me I could have the cheese and dessert because I'd already blown my calories.
In the end the day turned out ok because I went to the gym and pickings for dinner (work supplied) were slim so I had a slice of roast beef and steamed kale (the only green and undressed vegetable they do).
Now talking about it I want more cookies (because they were delicious); but because I had already prepared and knew that following my binge my body would want sugar today I picked up some melon slices, so will have those instead. So I guess that's good outcome number 5!

I haven't been working since May (I just graduated from law school and have spent the summer studying for the bar exam). Last week, I thought I'd look at my work wardrobe because I'm starting my new job at the beginning of September. I cleaned out my closet of all of my work clothes that were too big and I had nothing left! Over the course of the summer I've only lost about 8 lbs, but I started lifting and lost inches like crazy. The smallest things in my closet were a 10, and the things that fit now are either a 4 or a 6. Next week, after the bar is finally over, I get to go on a wonderful shopping trip to replace my working wardrobe. So excited!
Also, last week, I had to buy a new pair of jean shorts for the rest of the summer. I went to old navy and the shorts that fit were a 4! I couldn't believe it. 10 years ago, when I was in high school, I bought most of my clothes at old navy because they had size 20 and xxl. I walked out of there last week with xs shirts and a size 4 pair of shorts. I still can't believe it.32 -
I went from couch to 10 k in 33 days(never even ran as a kid--hated it)--and ran my first 10 K in 1:02:00. My 25 year old son ran his first 10K, and texted me to say 1:04:35 My NSV was the screen shot of my time to him-- and his "WOW"! Lasted 42 minutes on Jacob's ladder at 68-70 pace POURING SWEAT but kept going! Could only do two minutes 3 months ago!21

Wow, so impressive! Great job! How long after finishing the program did you run your race!2 -

Got up at 5am and went for that bike ride.
47 miles.
It was a tough ride. Mostly uphill. I forgot how hilly my county is. It looks so different from a car.
About halfway round, I'd had enough. I wanted to go home.
But, because I am so bloody-minded, I kept going.
It just went on . . . and on . . . and on.
That's the longest bike ride I've ever done.
I have no idea how people do century+ rides. They have my total admiration. I don't think that I'll ever be able to go that far.
My neighbour saw me return and asked how far I'd gone. He almost died of shock when I told him (note to self: be careful of what you say to older people).
My husband was "HOW FAR???"
My son's reaction was "Why not 50 miles? You could have cycled to the local shops and back, that's the three miles you needed!".
Thank you, child.
At least I beat the rain back (20 minutes after I get home, the skies have opened and we're back to torrential rain).
Glad I went though. I may try again next Sunday (I have to do this route on a Sunday as it's along a main road and the traffic Monday to Saturday would be lethal).
I'm going for a soak in the bath (if I can bear the pain of sit-bones on metal).39 -

This morning, someone asked if I'd lost weight. Someone who has only known me since I started losing weight, who I met roughly halfway through my losses so far. (I checked my records!) And yet my loss was still visible to her.
I must be looking goooooood.29 -
We bought new lawn chairs recently. I was flipping them upside down to get all the crepe myrtle flowers off the seats when I noticed they were labeled maximum weight 225. When I started tracking on MFP in February I weighed 247. Currently 187. So when I started out, I would have been too big to safely sit in my new chairs, but now I'm fine!39

Finished my first round of PiYO today. Been working out for a while, but that was no joke!15

Thank you . . . and yes, I am going to get the bike out again later if the rain ever stops - thought I'd do another 13 miles, round it up to 60, just because I can28 -
@Madwife2009 Where I live, there are bike races that are in 25, 50 and 100 mile increments. You're set to do a 50 mile race!! That's so impressive!13

I just finished my first official Sprint Triathlon at the Missouri Show Me State Games. I had two goals.
- Run the entire 5k.
- Do not come in last.
BTW - the total estimated calorie burn for the 1/2 mile swim, 15 miles bike and the 5k is about 1,800 calories.21 -
went a bit crazy today had a huge birthday lunch and then went to dollar store bought to much chocolate then the grocery store and bought a 4 pack of delicious squares with a grand total of 1760 calories in the squares alone. Yes i ate a good majority of the stuff, Well over my calories and plan to be all week. SO my victory came when i managed to give away the remainder of my junk i had enough i didnt need more, Especially knowing the calories werent going to be as good as the rest of my bday week plans lol. Prioritized my uncontrollable nomming LOL.
Mini win but a win. I did cut up 1 bar and the remaining 2 squares and stuck in freezer, Bought 5 pounds of strawberries and 2 pounds blueberries tho to snack on instead XD yummy. Now to go for a walk16 -

Amazing; I love reading about your adventures and triumphs. Great admiration of you. When you had "only" done 47 miles you could have told your son that you had done 75km; nice round number for him. But then you went and smashed out the 60 miles.
I can run (not fast), but hate cycling; which is a shame as my husband loves cycling and should probably do more of it. Hmm maybe next time I'm home I'll arrange a short flat cycle ride by the river.2
