Starting week 3 of c25k with my 11 year old - the goal is for the two of us to run a 5k at the end of October.25

These words actually came out of my mouth... "are we swimming or running or lifting tonight?" I'm a gym rat!31

My baby is almost 1 1/2 and I can finally retire my maternity clothes.38

got top braces this morning, after a month of stressing about it and panicking that it'll be 18 months of treatment.
only top braces on so far as bottom teeth won't take as long to treat and my lovely dentist didn't want to overwhelm me today with both sets and elastics.
Elastics will probably be needed but definitely not until November at the earliest - possibly not until the extraction next year.
feels very odd and am popping ibuprofen to alleviate any aches, but I have begun! thanks to the phrase 'time passes anyway' I am on my way to straighter teeth!
I'm actually in Invisaligns now --- my second set of braces (had the metal ones when I was a kid). 18 months is not that bad at all.8 -
The shorts that were tight two weeks ago feel looser around my waist.16

I wore a shirt tucked in today, with jeans that needed a belt to stay up. And my belt was on the third hole, not the loosest.21

Skateboarded about four miles to pick up a new board. Last time I made the trek I was about 215 lbs. At 175, the trip felt so different. It was just easy and it made me realize how much more stamina I have. I can only imagine how light I'm going to feel at my goal weight of 150.23

While getting dressed today, I took a look at my profile. I was so surprised to see an indentation showing off where my ribs are. I haven't seen that in almost 40 years. I still have a long way to go, but that was so inspiring.

I went to the gym last night, wore shorts first time in a long time. Walked by what I call "the truth mirror"near the entrance.
WOAH.... OMG.... I have a line ...in the side of my calf... a sign of a little bit of defining...
Oh My Goodness !
I have the beginnings of calf muscles!29 -
I overslept this morning after planning to swim before my doctor's appointment. I went anyway and only swam for 36 min, but I didn't blow it off altogether just because I couldn't get a full hour in.37

I rack pulled 425 lbs for three sets of one.22

I had top and bottom braces when I was in my 40s. Orthodontist told me 18 months. They were off in 14. That's b/c I followed their instructions, and it made a huge difference. They told me kids never follow instructions, and it takes longer.
It wasn't so bad for me, and I was very grateful to people who had the nerve to tell me something was stuck in my braces. Good luck!15 -
Yesterday I biked to work IN THE ROAD. For months now I've been scared at certain places and have stayed on the sidewalk. But I finally did it! And it wasn't that bad there is one tricky part where I have to be in the left lane to go straight, but otherwise it's okay.
Also this morning I had my fastest pace for my run to work. Gearing up for a 10K in 2 weeks and I'm getting psyched!31 -
Sleeping or lying down on my side and feeling that wonderful indent between my rib cage and hipbones.23

I went down another size. I also gained three pounds. I'm a rockstar at this diet thing. ha ha.34

Didn't wanna go to the gym. Went anyway. 1/2 way through my workout I wanted to quit. I didn't.39

I didn't freak out this morning when the scale was up a couple of pounds. Looked at the calendar and remembered that this happens EVERY month.38

It's football season.. so I dug out all my cute football t-shirts that I used to wear tailgating, many years ago when I was at my smallest.. really not expecting them to fit because they weren't even close to fitting last Fall. Low and behold, they fit and looked great! So basically I'm the same size as I was back in my early 20s, before getting married, before having a baby.. woohoo!44

Stuck to my appropriate calorie range yesterday despite being sick - usually the moment I get sick, all progress goes out the window and I binge on everything in the house trying to build myself up to make the sickness go away. Instead, this time, I just shot for the high end of my healthy range...and I did it.
And I'm on track to pull it off again today.31 -
How amazing! You gotta teach me how not to bow to food cravings! It's killing me!I find I'm able to close out my food diary mid-afternoon on days when I know what dinner is going to be. Until a few weeks ago I was such a slave to my cravings that I'd have to wait until like 10pm each night before clicking 'Complete' because I didn't know if other food might still be on the way in before bedtime.4

The past two days I couldn't do anything bc migraines but today I exercised again! The migraine came back a few hours later but hey, I did it19

I ordered a pair of size 2 jeans a week ago, and when I ordered them I said to my sister that I was spending $29 on hope. I haven't been a size 2 since maybe when I was in 10th grade. At my heaviest I got up to a size 10, to an occasional 12. I lost weight 2 years ago and got to a size 6 and 4, but slowly my weight crept up a bit and I got back to a size 8 (super super stretch). When I started losing weight again for the second time my main goal was just to fit into the size 6/4 jeans I was wearing the last time I lost weight. Well I have succeeded at that, but now some of those jeans aren't fitting because they are starting to get loose. Well the SIZE 2 jeans got delivered today and I tried them on and they fit and are perfectly comfortable. I am so happy about this that I'm saving the tag that says size 2 and putting it in my box of things that make me happy.34

I'm going to frame this as a NSV, although part of me sees it differently. Today I reached week 3 of the C25K program. I've been doing it steadily for 4 or 5 weeks now, but was listening to my body and trying to go slowly so I wouldn't hurt anything. (And one week something in one of my ankles didn't feel right so I had to take a break.)
Today I also ate at maintenance. I slept for 11ish hours last night, and was grumpy today, so I decided I needed to up my calories for a little bit. Once again, I'm trying to listen to my body. A lot of times I want quick results and want to push myself to make it happen. However, what I am learning is that sometimes you need to back off and be ok with the results you are getting without worrying if they are happening fast enough. It is more important to listen to your body and stay consistent in the long run, then to be exactly "on target" every day, but give up because you feel like crap or hurt yourself.42 -
My husband and I signed up for a 5k! It's this Saturday and we will be walking most of it, since his stamina has not fully recovered since his operation and we are only on week 3 of c25k. But we wanted to go ahead and do this one, because it's to benefit the West Cancer Clinic which is where his cancer is being treated. So it's nice that our first 5k is one which means something to us.42

Decided to go back to exercising everyday. I was scared to because it has seemed in the past that I can either eat at a deficit or exercise but not do both at the same time. But I've done an hour a day everyday this week and still managed to be at or under my calorie goal. Yay!24
