I got my first "you need to stop losing weight because you're small enough" comment. Woohoo. I still have a few pounds to go, but I'll take that compliment anyways.14

I admire your tenacity, but go ahead and buy a shovel. Just tell them your old one broke; there are legit reasons to get shovels during winter
nope. i like the mcgyver thing or in my dad's definition of it 'you children. always have to be different.' the deep squat position actually was more comfortable than a shovel since i'd just done a whole perversely demanding 5x10 squat workout that day.
plus, if i were buying a shovel i'd have to drive to the store. i ain't driving nowhere until it's safe again. i've been biking thanks to my special super-badass studded bike tires, but even with studs the ground's very squirmy and unpredictable what with ruts and ice-chunks. you kind of have to ride like a stunt cyclist and be ready for anything, so i don't want to add something as unwieldy as that to my challenges.

I had a lovely christmas with family.
My mum looks and feels so much better after loosing 20Kg - She finally decided it could be done after she saw me loosing. She told me she had never expected my legs to shrink as much as they did/do and that she was majorly impressed with my will power to keep it up.
Best NSV; Telling dad off for not telling me he was going to go to the gym on the 27th. Had I known I'd brought my stuff and would have joined him. Now I had to wait to get home and go to the gym then - which I did. Dad had a huge laugh about it He islooking forward to going to the gym with me. He thinks I'll outperform him17 -
My hubby told me I have "twiggy arms" and my daughter told me I have a tiny butt....I have NEVER had a tiny butt:):):)16

I broke my ankle on the 25th if September. Today I finally managed to walk up and down the road without my walking stick.33

Stopped logging and enjoyed the last month or so of "fun" food but kept up my 4x/week lifting schedule. I noticed a week or so ago that I've been progressing like crazy in my lifting, then realized it's probably because I'm eating at a slight surplus now. So instead of berating myself for gaining a few pounds, I just reframed it as a bulk--I'm about to start cutting now
That change in how i think about the weight gain and inevitable need to lose again makes a huge difference.16 -

Wonderful - many congratulations! When do we all get our wedding invites? Do I need to buy a hat?!I started running about two months ago and haven't stopped since...
How many miles from home are you now...?
(Sorry, couldn't resist! Awesome work, though! )I'm new here but have been reading this message board every day since Nov. 17.
Welcome to quite possibly THE best thread on the boards...!I went into the bathroom, looked myself in the eye, and said, "You are a beautiful woman and are going to have such an adventure. It won't be long before you are posting NSVs like the ones you read: jeans fitting, ring fitting, skinny shadow, tying shoes, etc., etc. Now enjoy your wonderful evening." Before reading all your posts, I would have said something more like, "How can you be so disgusting?" Thank you everyone who posts here for being such inspirations. I hope I can join you soon in sharing some other NSVs.
That's so great to read! I'm sure it won't be long before you're posting a few NSVs of your own here too, with that fabulous new mindset!18 -
made my own yogurt by pouring a gallon of milk into the crockpot and then sitting up until 3 am.
worth it though. i feel drunk with power.30 -
First triple digit free weight lift today! 100 lbs on the bench press. Now to clarify, I mean the 45 of the bar plus 55 in plates, but that does equal 100!22

i was standing in the pantry looking for something to mindlessly snack on when i realised 1) I didn't really want the block of chocolate there even though it is one of my biggest "treat" foods and 2) I can feel the bottom of my ribs! I managed to close the pantry door this time17

We took granddaughters to the fair yesterday and 11 year old challenged me to ride with her on a coaster with five loops which I did and which I would never have even thought about a year ago. While we were queuing she said to me it's lovely having a grandma who's not scared to do things anymore. And my husband, who was left holding the bags asked what's happened to my little fat scared wife. I am so proud of myself41

I dropped off four boxes of fat guy clothes off at the thrift store last night. So long, size 40-42 pants and xxl tshirts. I'm comfortably into my 34 waist and medium tshirts now. I was amazed at how big they were when I was sorting them out. It was pretty freeing dropping them off.
I also had fun buttoning up an old dress shirt yesterday - around me and my 10 year okd son .37 -

-I can properly touch my toes without bending my knees
-I am finally a U.K. Size 14 in shirts and a 16 in jeans. I haven't been this size for 3-5 years!
-I can touch my chest with my knees whilst doing PiYo. I have NEVER been able to do this until now!
-At my last asthma clinic appointment the nurse was so pleased with my progress, she took me off my inhalers and medication that aided my breathing. I don't need them anymore!!
-I can walk for miles at a time without needing to stop.
-I have managed to weigh myself once a month instead of daily and I don't get upset anymore when I don't see a loss. As long as my clothes fit that's fine by me!

My Sister gave me a sweater... she ordered it for herself and it was a little roomy when she got it. She handed me this size L sweater - and I looked at it and said - well, it might be a little tight, but, I will give it a try...
It wasn't tight. It fit me, perfectly. Whoot! First clothes without and X in the size since I was in High School... and that was 34 years ago.40 -
i just started on Monday December 26th, i'm wearing pants i couldn't button over a week ago. The bloat is definitely going down little by little.17

The jeans I bought in the summer that made me look and feel as squashed as an empty toothpaste tube are now, as of yesterday, entirely unflattering for completely different reasons - they're far too big and I have to hike them up constantly. Yay!21

Bought this entire outfit @ Goodwill for under $10!! I can graciously donate it back when it's 2 big!! Slacks & blouse both a size Large.... when I started back in March I was wearing anywhere from a 2-3X51 -
I RAN TODAY!!!!! There's a hill by my house--an uphill street--that my trainer has had me walking up and down for about 6 weeks. When I started, I was out of breath after one climb (probably only about 40 yds). I gradually worked up to 10 climbs with a short pause in between. Today I was griping, as usual, but he knows it's just my way (I tell him griping burns calories), and he told me the last 3 were going to be fast climbs. So we walked two pretty fast. Time for the tenth, and I said, "Want me to run this one?" He looked at me like "Aww, you're so cute" and smiled. I took off running and made it to the top. He exclaimed, "It's the miracle on Endicott Street!" I thought so, too. It's probably been 15 years since I ran and I didn't think I ever would again. (I just turned 61). I may have to check out that C25K thing y'all are always talking about. Yay me!!51
