Thankyou so much! It’s a lot more obvious from the side, because my spine is quite curved; my waist is about a UK8, and my hips and thighs are a UK12/14. I am not loving the current fashion for A-line skirts3 -

Last weekend I wore my paintball pants all day and they felt noticeably looser in the waist. They were such a pain to buy in the first place, because they're pretty much designed for men and what fit around my actual waist could be thrown out the window once my hips and butt got involved. Every sizing thing I found said I should go with a L, but I ended up with a 2XL. I could zip up the L, but no way was any squatting, bending over, or sitting happening. The 2XL just fit me but without any room for cinching. Now I have to cinch them up and I'm looking forward to trying out the L again!14

I've crept on this thread for a while for motivation. Today I'll share some.
Today I am down 92 pounds in roughly 7 months. MY NSV however, is that I am almost into a size 42 pants (down from 54), which is in the "normal" section in many stores instead of the big and tall section.47 -

Back and hip pain is gone.
Made it through an entire kickboxing class. Before I could only do about 15 minutes.
All of my clothes are too big.
Most of my cravings are gone.
I can almost keep up with my 15 year old daughter.
Took 3 minutes off my mile run time.
Only 21 more pounds to lose.
Am amazed you can find 21lbs to lose with 24.5% body fat! You’ll be a ripped machine! Sound like everything is working amazingly for you - Great job 💪
Thanks! My goal is 18%, 143 lbs. I am 5’4” with a large frame. I have a wonderful support system. And things in my life are pretty chill now so I can focus on making this path a lifestyle. It helps that my daughter is lifting with me as she wants to become a firefighter/paramedic.11 -
A friendly older gentleman stopped in front of me at work today to tell me that I was beautiful like the sun 😂 English wasn't his first language, but that was the jist of it. Kind of saddens me though because it never happened to me when I was heavier...25

All of my jeans are falling off now, after losing only 16 pounds. I actually look at myself in glass doors and ladies bathroom mirrors now, too, which I'd stopped doing a long time ago. It feels wonderful!24

I went to buy some pants because mine are all too big. I am officially at a size where I am able to shop at the department stores. I am no longer limited to Torrid and Lane Bryant (although I still love Torrid)24

I thought....that's a pretty impressive derriere...who's that?
Yep...twas I!
My backside is the bane of my life, whether in my current shape or when I was obese. Felt like it was back there secretly snacking no matter what....hard to believe the one in the photo belongs to me!
Haha, I know right?? I'm convinced it's developed a conscious brain & sneaks all sorts of goodies! What other explanation could there possibly be for 2 clothing size differences between top half & bottom half? I'm in control of the top half but the derriere simply isn't upholding it's end of the bargain
I have the opposite problem - no hips/bum and too much top. They are now on the run but it has taken forever for dresses to fit! 🤣🤣
Haha! Ahh, it's so strange how all of our bodies are so different!
I've got through the grief of my boobs going down 2 cup sizes....I'm quite grateful as it means I can get smaller dresses that look good on top & hide the snacking derriere rather well. (Love me an A-line!)
Feel your pain so much though because with certain cuts, bottom half looks great but top half is too baggy & makes me look larger than I am. Fashion is the enemy, for sure!
Ahhh, you'll be beautiful no matter what shaped fruit you are haha!
I'm definitely a pear (even when morbidly obese)but for some reason folk see hourglass a lot....
Always makes me want to drop to my knees dramatically & yell into the sky "NOT WITH THESE BOOBS!"
🤣
Thanks for such a lovely compliment. You're a peach!
I have a theory that people seem to think that big boobs are associated with vivaciousness. My big boobs seem to make me come off as more vivacious than I really am, and maybe your vivaciousness makes you seem more busty than your bra size would indicate?
Haha! Love looking at other lassies...theyre so beautiful & pretty, no matter
the shape. That sounds quite creepy typed out now I read it, but it's true! Peach....funny how that's the apparent beauty standard for the derriere...we should replace apple with peach, it's way cuter...just like the "apple" folk!
Well! That's something to consider....funny how assumptions can be made over something we have little control over (except surgery)....
I've been described as an animated(very recently too) talker so I've no idea if that counts....tbh it just made me want to stuff my hands in my pockets forever more 😂🙈. Apparently it "just means you're creative though!" I'm not particularly .... another assumption? Haha
Although people tell me that I an animated speaker, too; and my parents strongly disagree with that characterization of my genetic heritage.
(*I hereby offer my blanket apology to all actual Italians for perpetuating the stereotype.)
(And also for some of the things I do with pasta.)
In more derriere- related news, tonight I took my jeans off without unfastening them.
Haha! How funny...I'm half Spanish...perhaps there's something in it after all? 😂
Well done on your NSV...love it when that happens but I hope you will treat yourself to a new smaller size to show the shrinking derriere off! ❤️3 -
Last weekend I went and visited the boyfriend and met a lot of his friends. Had a great time, but really what I loved were these two Mirror selfies with him, I don't hate the way I look. I've lost a total of about 80lbs over the last oh 8 years, (so not much but hey I've kept it off!) I still have a LONG way to go but I'm starting not to despise every not perfectly angled photo.
Oh my gosh, you look so beautiful & you make a lovely looking couple! Congratulations on beginning to accept your hard work, know it's super hard to do at times ❤️6 -
Today I did something that I probably couldn’t have done before, and that I’ve always wanted to do: went on a walking tour of the beautiful historic cemeteries in San Antonio. It was perfect weather, the tour was excellent, and I was so glad I was able to keep up with the tour and navigate the sometimes rough terrain without losing my balance. (I’ve found I’ve had better balance since I’ve lost weight.)28

Thanks to kickboxing, I'm getting some serious abs and lats. Only been at it a month, and super excited to see what kind of transformation I'm up for if I can keep at it.20

Was working in the garden and was able to outlast my husband! New one for me!25

After having a couch day revising I realised I’d hardly moved. I did my 50 minute kettlebell dvd followed by 50 minute Zumba dvd and feel revived. I have never before worked out for nearly 2 hours and I’m not exhausted (I’ll probably pay for it tomorrow lol) and I’ve still met my CICO goals for the day 😁22

I finished my couch to 5k training yesterday and am signed up for a 5k on November 3rd! Three months ago, I could barely run a minute without passing out!37

At the doctors, I was able to use the regular blood pressure cuff and not the large one30

I went dancing in an off the shoulder dress. Got lots of attention 🤩 and danced for hours to disco and funk classics.
One guy came up to try to chat me up and said he couldn't find anyone else his age (insinuating that I am his age) because everyone in the club is like 40 or 50. I asked how old he is. 28 years old! 😱 I said "you're so sweet. You do realize I am 40? Thats is just how old the people are here" 😂😂39 -
Think this is my favourite NSV so far & they took some topping!
Me & my lovely husband in jeans that fit me in August 2017.(and for the previous 10 years more or less) They are a UK size 22 & though they were loose around my waist, these ones were tight on my thighs & now button/zip around both of us! Not even stretchy ones...
May need someone to pinch me....I'm dreaming, right?!

Thankyou so much...It's so very strange!
We figured out afterwards we can also fit in one leg each face on too but we'll have to do photos of that another day! For some reason, the ones we took today with full on side view look really rude even though they're perfectly innocent 😂😂😂😂9 -

This is straight-up awesome, @Vonny198334. I'm so happy for you!
I've got one too, though not as good as yours: I'm about to go out in public in a light-jacket-ish thing that I'm instead about to wear as a dress. Actually I'm not sure how much sense that garment description makes because I find it sort of hard to explain the cut of the thing. Now I think of it, maybe it was actually always intended to be a dress but when I bought it 13 years ago I couldn't button it (hence thinking of it as outerwear rather than its own article of clothing; it's also made of a stiff trenchcoat material), and my arms squeezed through the short sleeves like stuffed sausages. Now it's buttoned and the arms feel just right.
Even better, when I hit my current weight 6 months ago, although I could button the dress/jacket there wasn't enough clearance in certain torso areas for the garment to move naturally so still not approrpriate for a public unveiling. Even though I've been having trouble these last months dropping the last 10 pounds it does seem a bit of recomp has been happening in spite of the fact that I can't seem to get myself excited about strength training. I do it not-so-often and not-so-rigourously, so am really excited to learn that my gains haven't been zero, at least.19 -
I love this thread 🤗🤗
You all are amazing9 -

Aaaaaah!!! @Vonny198334 that is incredible!!! What an amazing NSV!!!
@HDBKLM - I went through something similar earlier this year where the scale stayed the same but over a month or so, I actually got smaller. I take regular progress photos and when I went back to compare the difference, even I could see a change. I'm glad you're feeling it and seeing it in items you can wear now! It certainly helps when scale is sluggish!9 -
Deleted repeat post. Don't know how that happened, sorry1

I think I’m finally ready to move to a lighter band for my assisted pull ups. I’ve been stuck here for a while, and now I’m finally seeing progress!
I just did 3 sets of ten with my regular size band with no problem. Last month I was barely able to do 3sets of 6-8 at my best time, maybe 3 sets of 5 at this TOM (I have low estrogen, so I can really feel the difference in strength during the first two weeks of my cycle—superwoman!—and the last two weeks—wet noodle). If I can do 3/10 now as a wet noodle, I can’t wait to see what I can do in a few weeks!15 -
@HDBKLM Thankyou & OH MY GOSH that is SUCH a great NSV! It's an amazing feeling when something goes from no chance to...okay....to PERFECT! Congratulations, hope you're rocking it with pride!
I'm in a similar boat to you at the moment ...got around 20lbs til goal & the scale is very arbitrary with its shifting(tbf I've been eating at a much smaller deficit & increased my maintenance days).
I've been slacking with increasing strength training too, yet the tape measure is telling me I'm steadily losing inches, as do clothes! No idea what gives but hey, we'll take it, right? 😄
@dhiammarath Thankyou! 😊8 -
Nsv for husband. Walked 10000 steps for the first time this year. Now I need to try and match it23
