A friend asked me for exercise advice and to show her my home gym, then asked, “So have you always been athletic?” Bwahaha 😂 I told her no, my parents sent me to fat camp before middle school. I just work hard to not have to send myself back to that self.
It’s nice to be seen as the fit/athletic friend instead of the chubby friend, even though I still am in my own mind a lot of the time. Especially nice after being frustrated and annoyed with exercise restrictions and my little tummy flap from surgery that’s still not back to normal—I felt myself becoming that girl again even though intellectually I knew it has only been a few weeks and I’ll get back to normal in a few more. I am always harder on and more critical of myself than anyone else is.13 -
I have started getting 3x shirts. In January I was in 5x. I often still wear my 5x tees because they are very loose and comfortable, but when I wear the new ones, I can really see the difference in my shape when I walk past the mirror. I feel like I must seem really vain, checking my progress out every time I walk past a reflective surface but I just can't help it.

I do that a lot too. It’s just admiring the results of your hard work!8 -
My upper stomach is starting to flatten out! Now instead of an uppercase “B” I got a lowercase “b” for a stomach lololol.24

May I DM you with a few questions about this?
Just a quick heads up: Sometimes when you message someone who isn't on your friend list, the message never gets through.2 -
Sometimes an NSV isn't what we notice, but what we don't notice. My back has been hurting the last 3 days, which made me realize, 'hey, when did my back stop hurting?' My back has hurt every day for at least 10 years, but since losing 35 of my 70 pounds, somewhere along the way it stop hurting.29

Oh the joy! Took an 11 hour flight and didn't have to squeeze into my seat nor apologise to the person next to me for my fat spilling over.29

After a gluttonous trip to visit family back east about 2 weeks ago, I’ve been able to tighten my belt back to the notch before said gluttonous vacation. Baby steps...22

I took on a 30 day ab challenge at the beginning of the month & have stuck with it!! I've never considered working out my abs before, so this was new for me. My squishy stomach needed some love after having 2 babies, 18 months apart! Now for the first time IN MY LIFE, i see a line running down the center of my stomach when I suck in.... I honestly wasnt expecting any visible results... so this is pretty exciting for me 😊

My jeans are, well, not quite loose, but certainly less snug through the thighs!!
I am glad to be keeping an eye out for these NSVs, as the scale doesn't seem to be making much progress at the moment.21 -
I had the opportunity to sing for a couple of weddings this weekend. I wore my usual formal dress to the first one and it felt pretty baggy. So, for the second wedding I decided to try on some old dresses that have been hanging in the back of the closet for years. Well, I was shocked when I could zip up an old bridesmaids dress from 12 years ago and I looked better in it now than I did back then...and that’s after 3 kids! Such an amazing feeling!35

Threw out 3 pairs of pants that just wouldn't stay up anymore.
HIGI machine BP at the store yesterday averaged out to 110/67.

I bought pants in the same size as I wore in high school.22

I talked myself out of eating office sweets this afternoon!22

For a fella that probably could not have run a mile most of his life!!! Dropped nearly 90 pounds a few years ago and started running a little .... Ben yo-yo with the final 30 since. Wish I had decided to do this earlier than just a few weeks ahead of time. I've been running some, but not nearly what I should have. Figured if I broke 2:20 I would be happy, 2:15 was a guess for an ultimate goal on try one. Finished 2:18. Brutal weather day of cold, heavy rain with lots of headwind in last third. I will admit that I walked a little late, and I will always wonder if normal weather might have nixed those couple of walks.... But I survived and crazily enough, I'm thinking about crushing this year's efforts next year already!!

My mom sent home a bunch of clothes that I thought would fit. Size 7 and 6.
They did not fit. I couldn't even get them over my thighs.
Instead of crying and hating myself for it, I shrugged it off. Eh. They're just pants.
And, we were clothes shopping the other day. I grabbed the size I wore in high school at this same exact weight, and tried them on. Too small. Surprisingly, I was okay again. I just went up a size without a second thought.
I guess lifting has really made my legs fill out.
This is more of a NSV along the lines of ED recovery than WL, but still. HUGE. I've been recovered for 2 years now almost and I still get emotional over how far I've come when things like this happen.37 -
yesterday, my PREVIOUS old lazy mind tried to talk myself out of exercising... but then I looked at a before and after photo and how far I have come since April, and hopped right off the couch , went to the basement and did 45 min of intense cardio on my spin bike. Felt incredible afterwards.33

I recently started on an inhaler. At first it was an as needed one but now am on a daily inhaler. I can breather during workouts! I thought it was just because I was overweight and out of shape. Yes, a contributor but not the whole story.
In my fitness class today, our main activity was 50 skips on the turf (harder to skip on), then 2 track runs (200m) with a 3 minute time cap. If you finish before the 3 minutes, you get to rest before the next set starts. Basically, every three minutes, we start the skip/run. We did this for 8 rounds. Normally, I would not get a break but just go continuous. This time, I was consistently finishing at 2:30 so I had 30 second rests!! Very exciting. And my group is so supportive it was nice to get high fives each round.27 -
Last week, after a month tracking, I finally had the guts to take proper “before” pics. I’ve decided to take weekly pictures just to keep me motivated in case the scale doesn’t go down.
Well, this morning I took new shots, and was able to spot some small differences even though I haven’t lost weight!!30 -
I ran/danced for 18 minutes straight, ate only heart friendly food and was under calories. First time Ive sone all three things in a long time23

I've been enjoying progressing at climbing. Six months ago, I was shot after 35 minutes of climbing V0s. Now I have 2.5 hour sessions, getting V3s and the odd V4, and I still want to continue at the end.
I have also been practicing how many push ups I can do after an exhalation without breathing in. I am up to 40 on these.14 -

Had an annual checkup yesterday.
Dr. was amazed at my 11lbs loss and how great I looked. She kept repeating "You're looking amazing for a 46 yrs old!!"
I'll take that!21 -

Pant sizes are ridiculous now. A size 12 in one brand fits like a size 8 in another brand. Never let your clothing size determine your success. See this article.

I was ready to go out for a ride by myself today, for the first time since being knocked off my bike.
My lovely son refused to let me go alone, even though I was keen to. Whilst I was happy for him to go with me, I was also concerned about his apparent anxiety about me cycling alone.
Tomorrow, my son is in college all day so I will go out alone, to prove that I can manage by myself.
That aside, I did NOT stop at every road we had to cross, unlike the last time when I stopped at every road, regardless of whether or not we needed to.
Making progress!37 -

My thought exactly! WOW!2 -
Yesterday I set some personal exercise records. I got through an expert-level hike. Towards the end I recognized the symptoms of low blood sugar/electolytes and dehydration and was able to stop, eat/drink, then finish. I truly wasn't sure if I'd make it up the mile-long rocky incline (we took a detour and the change in terrain was unexpected) but here I am, no rescue needed. And I can still function.
Yesterday I had an almost 1000 Calorie deficit. Today I get to eat some of that back. Yay!26 -
fitting into jeans that I haven't been able to wear in 16 years and no stomach hanging over them either. I'm glad I saved all my old jeans!26
