Got this hoodie for Christmas last year from my sister. It was so tight I never wore it. Tried it on now after losing 82 lbs and there is plenty of room and it actually is too big now, but I love it!

I probably should have bought them 2 months and 10lbs ago, but I just bought a number of pants in my current size (34...down from 40). I also noticed that I'm no longer intentionally buying shirts a size too big.25

Shopkeeper locking up for the evening said,”Girl, you look like a million bucks!” as I walked past. It’s a super fashionable men’s boutique and this guy always looks like he’s stepped right out of GQ. That meant a lot since I let myself run towards the “slob” end of the fashion spectrum the past few years.
Someone commented after class that I’m looking really “solid” from behind (we’ve been taking the same classes for years- she likes the back row and I always go for the first row).
But best of all, my balance is finally improving, I’m not falling out of every balance pose, and it’s silly, but after class, I realized I can stand on one leg to put each sock on, without having to prop myself on something. That is a big deal for me right there!
And I went shopping at Macy’s with a very petite friend yesterday for a mother-of-the-bride dress. I had to size down twice and realized I ended up with the same size she wears. That was a shocker.
I’ve got a dress and a backup dress. And both look great on me! And I bought some sexy heels and makeup, lol. I haven’t worn either in years. May need lessons! I feel all Pygmalion.
I love this post so much - especially the balancing on one leg to put socks on! This is a goal/dream of mine after breaking my ankle a few years ago...I didn't think it would ever happen, but I am doing pilates now too, and seeing some progress. Maybe it will happen!
Anyway, thanks for the post - you are looking great, and I really appreciate the inspiration

This:
Yes, I know. It looks like another pretty boring view of a town.
But, in the words of Rowan Atkinson in "Love Actually" it is so much more than just a boring view.
This is the view I have been yearning to see again since July. A view I didn't think that I'd see again this side of next Spring.
This is the view of the hill I used to cycle up on a daily basis. A 12-mile route that is quite punishing and is 95% roads. With cars and lorries and stuff. Which made me anxious.
Which is why I didn't think I'd be able (psychologically) to cycle it so soon.
But I told myself that I had to do it. I set a date by which I wanted to do it. I made DH have the car ready and his phone charged in case it got too much for me and I bottled it. I nearly quit before I left the driveway as I was so anxious about it. But DH said that I'd be really unlucky to meet another drunk-driver.
But I didn't bottle it. I just kept going. Yes, I had to use the lowest gear on the hills, whereas before the hills didn't seem as bad and I could go up them in a higher gear. Physically it was really, really tough.
But I did it. I got there.
And cried. Buckets. I probably looked really stupid, perched on my bike, taking photos and crying. But I didn't care.
I have a lot of work to do before I get back to my pre-accident state and abilities but this just goes to show that I WILL get there.
My next goal? To be able to cycle this route and add on a few miles by the end of next week. And to be able to do one of my 20-mile routes by the end of November/beginning of December.69 -
My husband said my pants were bagging like those guys that wear pants hanging and underwear showing, I have never had loose pants before! 40 lbs lost and sz 12 too big.28

I ordered a new pair of jeans today.
I am a little sad to have shrunk out of my favourite jeans, but I received an email from the store today with a 50% off sale, so I ordered a smaller size (and it's a smaller size than I have needed in YEARS).
It feels extra-sweet because the scale is barely moving down lately, but I have increased resistance training, so it's nice to have it confirmed that things are changing.23 -
As of yesterday, I can now fit into all the jeans in my closet (first time in 5 years).27
-
One more: my wedding ring is finally starting to loosen up. It was so tight earlier this year, even after losing 30 lbs. It's helped that we're having freezing weather, but I'm still going to take some credit. (And I've now lost 45 lbs.)26
-
Oh and another one - my resting heart rate has dropped quite significantly in the last couple of months (weight not changed much, but increased exercise). I'm also sleeping well, and have been able to come of one of my meds.30

I tried a pair of jeans, which were a bit too snug last month, and they fit perfect today. I wore them out with a sweater I never wear.
It has happened in the past, when I felt my clothes getting looser but I actually never wore them out because for some reason it freaked me out to wear baggy clothes. So I would never enjoy my clothes.
Well that mindset stopped today ! Very happy about that :-)27 -
I've been trying to do this for a year. And now I can. I am so much stronger than I used to be

My NSV.. I bought like 6 pairs of capris in different sizes a few weeks ago and I'm shrinking out of the largest ones. 😍😍😍
This morning they are so baggy that they are long just like regular pants, which is actually nice because I'm freezing and I don't own any real jeans or long pants21 -

Well I'm having issues with loose skin pretty much everywhere but my bingo wings are making me fearful that I may actually take flight.
However... The tops of my 'wings' are starting to show definition. I was entranced as I did resistance training today, looking at the shapes my arm moved into. I have biceps! Actual visible ones!19 -
Day 2 of Strong Curves, modified but still done!13

I chose heavier weights for my upper body workout this morning!21

Received my lab results from my 6-month checkup:
Diabetes A1C: From 8.8 (Diabetes level) to 6.1 (Pre-diabetes level). Next goal is below 5.7 (Normal level).
Cholesterol: From 214 to 210. Next goal is below 200 (Normal level).
Triglycerides. From 276 (High Level) to 174 (Borderline Level). Next goal is below 150 (Optimal level).
My doctor was very pleased, said to keep up the good work and shall see me again in 6 months. I hope to lose another 25 pounds by then, and continue with my healthier eating and exercise.33 -

I know, right?! When I first started training I couldn’t bear to look at myself in the mirror, but now it’s just so fascinating to watch stuff bulge in places it’s supposed to! It’s like a science lesson sometimes!

That is such great news about your a1c! Keep it up! Mine was 11 when I was diagnosed and is consistently under 5 now that I have lost weight and eat within the number of carbs that I can tolerate.12 -
I have been targeting this NSV for months and here it is:
My standing line/joke leading up to today's doctor appointment was "I want my lab results and visit to be so good that it makes her consider changing professions" 😆 Now, of course that wasn't going to happen, but her telling me that she is "blown away" by what she saw and read today is a very gratifying and very, very suitable substitute! And she got a good laugh out of the line when I told her. BTW, not seen in picture was A1C at 5.8 (6.1 in May) and fasting blood glucose of 100. At my May visit, I weighed 281!
Ain't no stopping me now!!! 🙂

I am equally as excited when I fit chocolate bars into my day’s meals as when I fit tuna in them.
Been working on incorporating every food I like into my weekly budget and never feeling deprived. This has been a new way of life for me and it’s bringing me a lot of joy and confidence. I am soooo very close to maintenance that I have no doubt I will enjoy it as much (if not more) than I am living now.21 -

Nice work! (I think the medical-markers improvement posts are my favority ones to see here: So powerful and inspiring.)
Blood pressure is pretty awesome now, too, I see.
Good show, and go, you!14 -
I had my first person notice my weight loss today! I’m at 39.2lbs lost (17.8kgs) so was wondering if anyone was ever going to notice. I’ve still got about 90lbs to go but I’m feeling so much slimmer and my stomach has gone down so much that it must be noticeable.36
