After an injury!

I have been having heel problems since starting running. I have been fitted for shoes, cut back on my routine, and now that it seems to be better, I'm noticing that I'm favoring that foot...
Do any of you have suggestions on how to get past favoring that foot?

Is it a mental thing? Or is it still hurting?
I have knee problems, have had them for years. I've found that I have to really concentrate when I exercise to not favor it. It's hurt for so long; now that the problems are under control and it doesn't hurt all the time, I still find myself favoring it. When I squat, I have to think really hard about pushing up equally on both legs instead of letting my left one do all the work. Same when I run. It's hard to get past, because I'm still expecting the pain. I've started concentrating on not favoring it when I walk, and to just walk normally. Small things, but it has helped to get the "injured" mentality out of my mind.0 -
It seems to hurt a bit but it is improving. I guess I need to concentrate on not favoring it. I think I'm afraid that if I use it, it will hurt.
I hate the fact that my body is not holding up to what I want and need it to do... I imagine it takes time, trying to be patient.
Thanks for your response.0 -
