I saw... But got so bored of all the talking! THE TALKING!!!

The action scenes were nice, though. I woke up to watch those bits! :flowerforyou:

I saw The Hobbit when I was a kid, but I've never seen any of LOTR. I bought the video years ago, so it's not like it would be hard to do, but really, it is.

The movies are so long, it's probably quicker just to read the books.

Read the books many times! Loved the LOTR movies, liked the first Hobbit one OK, hated Desolation of Smaug.

Says the lady with a Tolkien quote on her profile

BTW - there's been a new Hobbit movie out since you were a kid. That'd be the animated one.

You gotta watch it just for Viggo and Orlando.

I got the quote off a calendar. I'm surprised I even remember seeing it, it was so long ago.

I didn't mind the LOTR movies, but thought they went a little too cutesy in places.

But since they (in what can only be a cynical cash grab) broke the Hobbit up into THREE movies(one book : three movies  ) , i simply refuse to see them.

I'm happy they did, the LOTR books should have gotten 2 movies each, then we would have Tom Bombadil and Glorfindel would have saved Frodo after he was stabbed instead of Arwen and so much more!

I (vastly) prefer the movies to the books. In fact, I hated reading the Hobbit, so I get an extra kick out of the movies for having little to do with the book.
