Electronic Calorie Tracker Devices that Sync with iphone 4

I've been active on MFP for a month now so I'm sort of a newbie, but I've been wanting something to help me get a more accurate idea of the calories I burn every day, and the calories I burn taking walks and playing with my toddler.

I bought a calorie tracker wristband today at Walmart, brand name was Perfect I think. It has an iphone app but doesn't sync with it because I have an iphone 4. It only works with iphone 4s and higher. So disappointing!

I looked into the FitBit Flex and that's the same way - only works with iphone 4s and higher. I will be getting a new phone at some point but not sure when.

Can anyone recommend something similar that might sync to an app on an iphone 4? Or doesn't anything like that exist? Thanks in advance...

I don't know anything about the iPhone models - sorry!

For what you bought - does it sync to your computer? Does it connect to your MFP account? If so then you should be able to accomplish what you intended, but without being able to use it with your phone.

I have a Fitbit One. (LOVE it.) Its not the wrist watch style - but I clip it to my pocket or my waist area. It is not compatible with all phones - you can go to Fitbit's site and see what is compatible. But phone or not, it syncs thru the computer (comes with a dongle) and connects to MyFitnessPal.

My BodyMedia armband synced with my iphone 4, but you do have to pay annually to use their website.

You're probably going to find the same thing with most all the fitness trackers that sync wirelessly. Those trackers require Bluetooth 4.0 (or higher) to sync. Older phones, like your iPhone 4, only have Bluetooth 3.x (or less depending on how old your phone is).

The Jawbone UP (not UP24) would probably work, since it's not a wireless sync, but you've have to check the specs for certain.

Unfortunately the one I bought does not sync with MFP, or my computer. I suppose I could get a FitBit and just sync it to my computer until I upgrade my phone, whenever that happens. :)

Who would have thought my phone is such a dinosaur? ;) Ha ha...
