Is there an advantage of lowering animal products?

When trying to lose weight that is. I'm a vegetarian, but I still like cheese and eggs. Or alternatively, is eating eggs maybe once a day too much? I hear it is a great post-workout food.

Eat what you want. So as long as you are in a calorie deficit you will lose weight. For health balancing your macros and micros is ideal. I love eggs I eat sometimes three a day. Medical issues aside, eat everything in moderation ;)

No, no advantage. In fact, anemia is the most common deficiency in America, and meat is by far the richest source of bioavailable iron.

An egg a day is fine--it fits well within the recommended daily cholesterol levels. Dairy products such as cheese are typically excellent sources of calcium. It's challenging to get enough without dairy.

The only angle I can think of is that animal sources of protein tend to come with more fat than preferable... and on the flip side, there are plant sources of protein that come with plenty of fat. Peanut butter, case in point.
