Hi my name is Mercedes, had Sleeve Surgery 3 years ago, had to for health reasons. I would not recommend it, if you can do it by help and support do so, it has help me to lose, gain my health back, but have to be constantly making sure not to gain, it is easy to gain it back. I am now losing again, its hard, lots of foods that cannot eat and not too many support groups for Sleeve Surgery people. Just want to know have support of others that battle this illness, known as obesity, its a struggle, but to know you have others to communicate makes a difference. :flowerforyou:

    Hello,

I had the surgery 2 years ago. i lost about 90 pounds in the first 9 months but the Nothing. Over the last few months, I have started to put weight back on.

While I really like the results, i have have about 50 pounds to go. Many people think that surgery is the "easy way out". It is not. It is a constant struggle. I find that I can eat something today and not eat it tomorrow without getting sick. I still get sick 4-5 times a week. I can tell if it is from the amount of food or the type of food and 99% of the time it is the type of food.

I could not get answers from my doctor. One visit he would tell me not to eat lettuce then the next he told me to eat more green salads. I was told only eat 3 meals a day. Then told to eat 6 meals. My hair was falling out and he told me it was my fault.

I have 2 people at work that have had weight lose surgery. One co-workers husband also had the sleeve. We share stories and ideas and are the sounding board for bad days.

I am trying to kick start my weight loss again so that I can reach my goal.
