change in circumstances

ok, so i'm going from a sahm for the past 5 years, to gainful employment.. painting houses/contracting work. (hey i took what i could get, tough market out there)

i've been steadily losing at 1750 cals (i'm doing tdee-20%) at a rate of just over a pound a week.

i'm trying to re-figure my new tdee with the increase in activity level, but i; not sure what activity level to pick. i had been using one step up from sedentary, and it was working, but now i dont know what to pick.

Why not give it a week on the job without changing anything and see how you feel? Then adjust activity level as needed.

Though my guess is that contracting work counts as "active" with MFP system. You're on your feet moving around all day, picking things up, using tools, etc.

ETA congrats on the new job! Hope you enjoy it and the paycheck :)

I'm a paralegal who works a desk job and I have my activity level set to active because I run and weight lift, and I do eat my exercise calories back too. I lost weight with this method and am now successfully maintaining.

I think it's trial and error.
