Is it okay to switch a meal for a bit of junk?

Tonight i am going to the movies, and i really want popcorn is it okay to eat that instead of dinner? So that my calories are still correct. I know i'll be hungrier then my normal day but i'll suck that up haha

This is only something i would want to do occasionally, and asking members opinions on if they have done this before.

    Short answer: yes
    Long answer: OMNOMNOM

Serious answer: Absolutely ok, though be aware you will probably show a TEMPORARY bump in weight due to sodium....it's not fat, I promise!

Yeah, no issue. I agree with the former on sodium (you might get some water retention). Try to hit your macros in your other meals if you track them though.

I do it all the time. Just drink a good amount of water to balance out the sodium intake.. Gotta live a little even while tracking macros lol.

I didn't even know popcorn HAD any calories.

Eat your dinner and have your popcorn too. And if you want to do this regularly, work out what you're going to want to eat (for me it'd be an icecream with chocolate and nuts, a box of jaffas and a drink of water) and spread those calories across the week. :)

I think it's fine, not like you're doing it every day. I did the same thing yesterday cause It was my last day at my job so I had a few leaving drinks and not gunna lie, I just couldn't bare drinking diet coke all afternoon so I swapped my dinner for alcohol. Had about 700cals worth of alcohol in the end but still lost weight when I weighed in this morning. Win win situation

Mary mother of God I had no idea. I probably come in equal with my choc bomb and jaffas. LOL just tested it - 550 cals!

Well, that's a daily reduction in cals of about 75. Missing dinner on that day is probably easier. :)

Sure, if you're covering your micro nutrient bases and getting enough protein you can switch it up as often as you want.

It's your diet after all - so your rules.

    Enjoy.
