Not tired?

No idea what topic to throw this under, so I'll start here.

I'm not tired. Until now I've never been a morning person and I like my sleep. Never used to function well for long if I didn't get at least 7 or 8 hours each night and looked forward to my nap on Saturdays. Over the last while since I started eating "properly" and working out, I'm not tired. I go to bed at 10, toss and turn and stare at the ceiling for an hour or 2. I wake up early and can't go back to sleep. Seems I get 4-5 hours of sleep and I can't get more.....naps also a thing of the past. I try, but my body mostly says "no". I don't take in any caffeine after about noon 95% of the time, so I'm pretty sure it's not that.

After a month+ of this I'd expect to be tired, cranky, etc, but I seem to be functioning quite well.

I am hypothyroid and have taken synthroid half of my life. A fairly high dose currently. Going to see the doc to see if for some reason this weight loss thing has kicked my thryoid into a different gear and my dosage is keeping me awake. It's possible, but the research I've done so far doesn't say it's common.

Anyone else find changes in their sleep when losing weight or taking up exercise?

I've never been much of a sleeper and found that when I started exercising I need less sleep. I usually go to bed by 10:30 or 11:00 and I'm up at 3:30 to go to the gym. I don't mind it.

At what time do you work out? Sometimes working out late in the day or evening can cause sleep difficulties for some. I guess because it's stimulating. Also, do you feel hungry when you go to bed? Maybe a light snack will help you fall asleep?

ETA: To answer your question, yes, diet and exercise does affect my sleep. I get more tired at night, sleep better, and wake up early and feel good. Used to be the opposite. Could fall asleep but never stayed asleep, and woke up "just in time" or late, and always felt grumpy upon awakening.

I usually work out right after work, so several hours before bed. Except on weekends, when I usually do it in the morning. I like my evening snacks, so almost always eat something an hour or two before bed and am not hungry.

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease), and had terrible insomnia when I was hyperthyroid.
