In need of a treat.

We've been eating lean meats, vegetables and salads for two months with great success (I've lost over 2st, my wife just under 2st) and tonight we've decided we're going to have a treat, but would still like to know what the lowest calorie options would be for a Chinese takeway. All advice welcome.

Cheers

Carlos

Forget that, I've made a curry instead.

    Hope the curry was good.

I have found that chicken chow mein tends to be diet friendly. It's mostly veg and meat. And I love it. Honestly, though, one splurge meal won't ruin your results, so if you want Chinese for a special night, why not just eat what you like and resume your lean eating the following day?

    Congrats on your losses!

You can look up Chinese recipes and make it at home too. I make delicious fried rice for 1/3 of the calories.

Curry was turkey, mushrooms, onions, garlic, jalfrezi spice mix/cumin seeds/cayenne pepper, one stock cube, carton of chopped tomatoes, handful of baby spinach, bay leaves, seasoning, water.

Fry it all, chuck the tomatoes and water in with bay leaves, spices and seasoning, boil it, let it simmer until the house smells amazing and serve it with basmati rice (with turmeric in the water to make it go yellow like pilau), I think it worked out to a smidge over 400 calories per serving and it was a HUGE pile on each plate. I'm now stuffed and still have 650 calories to pay with before bedtime. Yay me.
