No-Sal

Since tracking my foods, I have noticed that I am very low on potassium and low on sodium. I found this stuff called no-Sal that has a ton of potassium in it. Has anyone heard of or used that before? I read somewhere that you shouldn't use potassium supplements unless directed by a doctor. Any thoughts?

I thought I had to pay a ton for it online but wound up finding it in the grocery store for 5 bucks. I use this for salt added meals and baked treats. I thought this made sense for me because every so often, I actually mix vit C with baking soda (sodium) and drink it, so this would bring my sodium intake to "normal"

Then I started reading all this stuff about having more sodium is actually better for folks who aren't sodium sensitive, with stats on lower sodium people having poor survival rates in heart attacks, etc. Pretty scary **** but I already bought the No Salt and have been using it.

I did not ask my doctor about it yet but might when next I see her (in several months)

Oh, somebody here actually posted that a way to remove sodium from your body was to consume more potassium. Not sure how true this is, but if it is, maybe not a good idea for someone low on sodium to use No Salt???

Are you sure you're low on sodium? Many items in the database dont have totally accurate nutritional info.

My Mom always said that she didn't absorb sodium. I was getting bouts of dizziness until this past week I began eating more sodium, and since then I haven't had any bouts of dizziness. When adding food from the database I always check it against the product label to verify that it is correct.
