Favourite Smoothie Recipes

Hey guys,

So I fell off the wagon after quite awhile of logging food and being active, but I am back on and ready to go. I saw the numers on the scale creeping back up ever so slowly, and I said NOPE, NOT GONNA GO BACK. I'm drinking more water, trying to do something active everyday, and trying to eat better.

I'm trying to have a smoothie for breakfast before I go to work in the morning, and this is what I had this morning.

I follow the 1 CUP LIQUID + 1 CUP GREENS + HALF BANANA + 1 CUP OTHER FRUIT protocol and it works well!


SPINACH, PEAR, and PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE

YIELD: 2 servings

2 cups water
2 cups baby spinach
1 medium banana
1 medium pear, cored/chopped
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 tbsp fresh ginger

Blend and pour into two glasses. :) Enjoy!


The combination of pear and ginger is fantastic. I used ginger preserves, today, which was really nice as well. Really adds a nice zing. You can also substitute some other liquid for the water - half coconut water half water is really nice, but you could also use half milk (any sort) and half water. If you'd like to add any extras, you could do a tablespoon of chia seed, hemp seed, flax seed, some lemon juice, etc.

It would be cool if you guys could share your favourite smoothie recipes. I usually just make something different with whatever I have at the time. :)
