Walking and Strength Training

Everything I read says that walking with strength training is a great way to accelerate achievement of fitness. I am walking 3 miles three times a week and am starting strength training two times a week. Anyone else working this kind of combination? And if so, any tips or suggestions?
Thanks

Sounds like a solid strategery for general fitness. I approve of this message.
Strength training done right is IMO the most important form of exercise one can do.0 -
It is pretty much what I do.0

Don't discount the need for proper shoes. Whatever you have to invest in the gear is cheaper than what you will have to pay the doctors later. Walking is not intense exercise, but you still have to be suited up. :flowerforyou:0
