I made a recipe tonight with the recipe builder and used weight as a way to work out the calories of my portion
the total calories of my recipe that I put into recipe builder was 1202 calories
the cooked weight of this meal was 1581 grams
my portion was 400 grams ( yes I feel very full, lots of veggies....)
I worked my portion out to be 300 calories does this seem right? I'm bad at maths and I'm not sure my formula makes sense...
cheers

Looks about right to me
I tend to round things up in my head when doing the checks
So cooked weight approximately 1600 g and total calories approximately 1200 cal
400 g is 1/4 of 1600
300 cal is 1/4 1200
So pretty darn close0 -
Yeah, just remember calories per gram or calories/grams.
1202/1581 = 0.76 cal/g
So 400 grams would be 304 calories. (400*0.76)
ETA: If you used the recipe editor, just fool around with the decimal number of the servings until you get it to the calories you calculated. It is close to 1/3 the recipe which is 0.3330 -
(1202/1581 ) X 400 = 304.111 pretty spot on0

Thanks so much everyone!0
