Yesterday went for a walk, walked 2.5 miles according to the arm band that records distance and steps. Went from my house up to the reservoir and then walked around it and then came back home. Was tired, but felt good. This morning set the alarm for 5 a.m. ( I really tried to get up that early, but ended up getting up at 5:45) , took my little dog for a 45 minute walk (we did not go to fast her legs just don't let her and she has to stop every 5 minutes to smell everything, but at least we got up and got moving. Going to try to go again to the reservoir this afternoon; going to try to get in the habit of getting up and walking in the morning for 30-45 minutes and again in the afternoon. Then maybe after I get to where I can do that well, then maybe I will try jogging. So if you see a fat lady trying to jog don't laugh because it might be me.. :-)

  • Well done for grabbing the bull by the horns! We all need to start somewhere and walking is brilliant; I try to do it every day. Good luck on your journey.

Congratulations on getting started!! You'll be hooked on walking in no time. I have two little dogs myself and walking helps both me and them. Wishing you well.

The first step is the hardest and you've taken it - that's great!

Good for you, keep moving girl!
  • Remember the famous song from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer:

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

You never will get where you're going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there's a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking man is hard to beat

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

If you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don't be the rule be the exception
A good way to start is to stand

Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you'll be walking out the door

If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
You mean that it's just my election
To vote for a chance to be reborn
