    Diet burns fat.

    Exercise burns calories.

Though the two together work well, it doesn't make them interchangeable separately.

Your body is a dynamic system. You are gaining and losing fat throughout the day. If you are in a sustained calorie deficit, you'll lose more fat than you gain. It isn't useful to think about a "fat burning zone." Think in terms of net calories.

The best forms of exercise for losing fat will be those that help you achieve a calorie deficit. Walking, running, elliptical, biking, are all fine. Add strength training not because it is a great calorie burn, but because it will help you retain lean mass while in a calorie deficit.

Burn fat in the gym? Try an electric griddle? Portable and handy.

    ^^^^ too funny!

Two of the better ones is HITT and/or keep rest periods between sets to a min when weight lifting.

Also, my wife is a Zumba Instructor....trust me, over an hr, you will burn a lot of calories...I average anywhere between 660-900 an hr.

Yep. Always a misconception about cardio burning fat.

Here's some additional info: one burns more fat sleeping and at rest (8 hours) than an hour of cardio. Truth.
